Computer no longer recognizes my hero... ughh

Has anyone had problems syncing via HTC Sync? For some reason today, my computer no longer recognizes my hero and I am no longer able to transfer files back and forth using the USB cable. Ughhhhh anyone able to help? I tried uninstalling HTC Sync and reinstalling but that did not help.

happens to me on occasion but always works when i reboot the computer.

I had that problem once, it turned out to be an issue with the cable. Are you able to try the cable on another PC to try to trouble shoot it?

Thanks to all - I tried my backup cable and it worked like a charm. Guess it is no longer my backup cable!
