Don't re-lock it until you confirm re-locking it will solve the problem. It may still detect the bootloader has been unlocked. I don't know. I know Motorola can detect because it shows a status code on the bootloader even when re-locked.Can you point me to the best way to re-lock it? He doesn't need it unlocked.

@bhb27 has an app that bypasses the SafetyNet check, but I don't think it will work on stock-based ROM. I've not researched.
Here's his announcement. Do NOT flash this until you find out if it's anywhere compatible with this ROM. You can ask @bhb27.
iSu V 1.7 update
Changelog and download link #2 and #3 post
I made a new .zip that helped me to achieve a safety pass, only need to some users
iSu_kernel_cmdline_Patch_V_1_7_and_up.zip
The kernel_cmdline is only need to some devices that after deactivating SU with the app still can't pass the safety check, Google is using kernel and bootloader arguments to determined that the user modify the SW and them prevent them from passing as safe, this add extra safe arguments to cmline and help to achieve the pass current it only support some device (Nexus and Motorola, maybe other post on the thread device/vendor if the zip help you)
