Can you point me to the best way to re-lock it? He doesn't need it unlocked.

Don't re-lock it until you confirm re-locking it will solve the problem. It may still detect the bootloader has been unlocked. I don't know. I know Motorola can detect because it shows a status code on the bootloader even when re-locked.

@bhb27 has an app that bypasses the SafetyNet check, but I don't think it will work on stock-based ROM. I've not researched.

Here's his announcement. Do NOT flash this until you find out if it's anywhere compatible with this ROM. You can ask @bhb27.

iSu V 1.7 update
Changelog and download link #2 and #3 post

I made a new .zip that helped me to achieve a safety pass, only need to some users

iSu_kernel_cmdline_Patch_V_1_7_and_up.zip
The kernel_cmdline is only need to some devices that after deactivating SU with the app still can't pass the safety check, Google is using kernel and bootloader arguments to determined that the user modify the SW and them prevent them from passing as safe, this add extra safe arguments to cmline and help to achieve the pass current it only support some device (Nexus and Motorola, maybe other post on the thread device/vendor if the zip help you)

:good:

about what?
@bhb27 Sorry. Wondering if the iSu zip you posted that is supposed to help devices with unlocked bootloaders bypass safetynet would work on a Turbo running CF Marshmallow? Gave my Turbo to my son for Christmas and it's running CF and he can't use Pokémon Go.

can your iSu_kernel_cmdline_Patch_V_1_7_and_up.zip be used on stock-based ROM like this? I doubt it, but checking. His son is now using his old Droid Turbo. It's not rooted but bootloader is still unlocked and has this ROM installed. Won't pass SafetyNet check for Pokemon.

He wants to re-lock the bootloader. I'm checking on alternatives.

Furthermore, will just re-locking the bootloader actually let it then pass SafetyNet? Or does he have to reinstall total stock firmware?

That used to work, but starting in September SafetyNet (which is used by both Pokemon and Android Pay), started checking bootloader status also. There's a couple of workarounds, but the only one available for Quark is @bhb27 solution.

No device check XDA thread has now been closed:

Re-locking works on google pay so that looks like the only way. You can re-unlock with sunshine this has already been tested. So "fastboot oem lock" from bootloader fastboot mode.

Any issues with staying on this rom with a locked bootloader or should we just revert to stock? Thanks for all of your help.

I think it will be fine as the rom is just cleaned and tweaked a bit nothing in the rom will stop Pokémon not to work. So I don't see why not. If it was me i would re-flash the rom clean cache and all that setup without Pokémon then lock bootloader then reboot and setup Pokémon. I can not guarantee that any of that will work. I have had others lock there bootloader in the past for Google pay and they told me it worked with my rom. But that was on lollipop.

I hope that help

Thanks. One more thing - the phone is currently running 1.03 and I know it's pretty close to stock. Any issues with backing it up, installing 100% stock, and then restoring data from 1.03?

That will work. But you will be wipe cache and data on the Pokémon app then uninstall it after you get it all locked down do not make a backup with the Pokémon app installed as it may be flagged.

If unlocked bootloader is the only thing making it not pass safety net, that zip will fix it, but that is need TWRP and probably unlocked bootloader to boot as I did not try that on full stock ROM to see if after that zip had change the boot.img the locked bootloader let it boot, and I will not try that as the result is probably a fail.

Any way those things as long you have a unlocked bootloader and TWRP can be tested without asking me or anyone else anythings as is a simple as make a backup test not good restore the backup, just saying that because all the tools are there for any one to use and the use is really simple noting I share makes any device to explode :silly:...

I still don't understand why I always experience very very high Cell Standby battery drain ( >50%) when using stock ROMs (MM Brazillian and this one)
Never had this problem with LL and Nougat Roms.

However, I find this ROM superb and don't want to flash nougat at all due to its bugs. Is there any way to fix this?

That's odd, my cell standby time is usually ~2%. My phone still says 1 day 7 hours and I haven't charged it in over a day. The great battery life and VoLTE is why I use this ROM. In my experience, the battery life is excruciatingly bad with nougat ROMs.

Did you do a clean install and flash the new radios?
Did you try to wipe cache again?
Do you have a good cellular signal?
Another issue could be your phone constantly searching for WiFi networks if WiFi is turned on.

By any chance are you using Hangouts as your SMS app? I just read this in looking for an answer to your issue and wondering if it may be related.

yeah it's weird right?
I did exactly what everybody does, and a cache wiping can solve the problem temporarily though.
But as soon as I turn on the data (and turn it off immediately after that,) the cell standby drain comes back.

I think it must have something to do with cellular signal I guess, I usually have it maximum and very stable here, but I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I live in Vietnam and the network is not compatible or something?

No, I never install those google apps except for Gmail and playstore haha.

HOWEVER, here is one thing I must say that I think the drained percentage is just...virtual. Because I still do get 5 hours + screen on time as usual regardless of 3% or 60% cell standby drain. But OCD is killing me :crying::crying::crying:

And thank you very much, I'm going to check out those links.

GOOGLE VOICE and HANGOUTS

GOOGLE VOICE and HANGOUTS

Some of us have to use Hangouts. Besides the outdated Google Voice app, it's the only messaging app that recognizes and natively uses Google Voice phone numbers to send/receive SMS/MMS messages. Nobody knows (and I don't want them to know) my underlying carrier phone number. I use my Google Voice phone number as my public mobile/cell phone number. Lots of advantages I won't enumerate here. But both me and my wife use Google Voice as our phone numbers and it's great.

Making phone calls, my phone number shows us as my Google Voice number (thanks to Google Voice app). I can even use stock dialer or any dialer app, as long as the "use Google Voice number" option is checkmarked in the Google Voice app.

And using Hangouts as my default SMS/MMS app, I can send messages and they will show as coming from my Google Voice number. With other messaging app, friends ask "who is this?" or "how many phone numbers do you have?"

While the Google Voice app also will allow messaging the GUI is horrible, and Hangouts is a fresher design. I don't understand why Google doesn't allow this option in ALL messaging apps (Android is designed/controlled by Google), or even in their own half dozen messaging apps. Only Hangouts has Google Voice options.
