Would flashing the bootloader not cause this though? I paid 25 bucks dont exactly want to have that go to nothing? Just want to make sure flashing the BL isnt going to flash a locked one. I figure it wont. I just want to make sure
If your bootloader is locked and you flash a new updated bootloader, your phone will remain locked.

If your bootloader is unlocked and you flash a new updated bootloader, then your phone will remain unlocked.

You are updating your bootloader not locking it. The only way to re-lock the bootloader is to fastboot oem lock. Even in you flash stock firmware with recover and all your phone will stay unlocked as long as you don't fastboot oem lock. This is because there are unlocked developer phones that exists in the wild. Your phone being unlocked is basically just that.

A quick question...

I have been using the CF 4.4.4 build (Computerfreek_turbo_1.5.5b_V4A 493Dpi) since it was first released. A solid build! Now, it's time to upgrade. Do I just follow the installation guide in the first post of this thread, or (as I am still on MOFO), are there intermediate steps required? Everything is backed-up and ready to wipe..... I really just need tethering and a version of Android at least as recent as 5.1 to support various apps (IE: KODI 17).

Thank you for your excellent ROMs!

You need to unlock the bootloader first then install a recovery like TWRP. Take a look at Sunshine unlocker.

Thank you for your reply.

Would there be any reason to use something like RootJunky to restore the original ROM, then upgrade via Verizon, then use One Click Root to get root on the factory ROM?
Be very careful you do NOT upgrade to stock Marshmallow before you unlock your bootloader. Sunshine only works on stock Lollipop. If you're not sure, then just flash the stock Lollipop updates manually, which can be found here in this forum.

There's an unlock guide in General that answers all your questions.

Great ROM, thank you.

However, I cannot get Verizon Visual Voicemail to work.
It tells me to call up Verizon, but I doubt they will help since the phone is unlocked.

Any suggestions?

Vvm is working. Try and wipe data and cache under application Manger of vvm and setup. Then reboot into twrp and wipe cache also. Reboot and retest. If that still is not wotkin go to your verizon account and remove vvm from your account then open vvm and setup and re- subscribe

Update

Sorry I have not got a non Verizon build out to you guys or even an update. Just been super busy. I just got back from seeing family and not I have a number of doctor appointments in the next few weeks. I do have an update that I believe is ready to go. I just have not had time to test it. I did not bring my droid turbo with me last week I was on my s7. So I am going to switch service over to the turbo for a few days for testing and if all is good I will post a update. I did test one but there was no real improvements to the current build.

I hope everyone is having a happy new year. Remember if you need any help or support for xposed or pon3. I have some help and info on the website computerfreek.com

Dony sweat it man. Dont think anyone here is (or should be for that fact) pushing you. Roms great. Been using it for a while not sure which build. The only thing is im not sure if this is part of the new verizon rom or what but when i select a user from my contacts to call and click the number it just puts it in dialer now vs just calling the number. Kinda annoying. Otherwise everything else is great. I find issue when i have low reception and am on wifi. It tries to switch when i call and drops all the time so i gotta turn off wifi then call but man its great to have VoLTE back.

Maybe there is a setting in the dialer to fix the auto calling. I know on the s7 i just tested it and it is the same. I will let you know if i can find a setting or a fix.

I think modem drivers are buggy with the new radios and wifi. I was hoping verizon will post the full firmware soon and not just the ota. And maybe a bug fix to some of the bugs. But seeing it took 2 years to get mm i am not counting on it any time soon.

Yeah i was not in a big rush to push an update if it is not doing anything useful like saving more battery. I do have some things in the works just need to find the time. Now i am sick with a head cold i received for the new year.

This happens when coming from other ROMs that support other devices like the xt1250. Unzip my radio black package and reflash the boot.img from modded TWRP or from fastboot. If you where coming from stock I think you be fine but your not. Unless you are on the xt1250 in that case it is the same step reflash boot.img
I have this problem and can not get past the bootloader warning screen. Where is this "black package". I can not get my phone to boot after flashing MCG24.251-5+Radios+BL.zip I was on RR 6.0.1

At you on a xt1254 droid turbo or on Maxx?

Did you wipe everything data and system and cache. Then flash the radio bootloader pack. Then flash my ROM. Do it I. That order do not flash ROM then radios.

I got a ROM loading now. I think upgrading the bootloader and radios wiped the ROM (OS) I had on the phone. I didn't realize that and was freaking out when nothing was booting.

As others have said, thanks for keeping up on this for all of us... we appreciate it, for sure!

The FXZ has been posted (RSD image) - is that not what you're looking for?
