You are so right I missed that Hide magisk works. Thanks...

I will work on OP on getting that updated. Thanks

Now we need someone to test google pay.
I haven't tested Google Pay at the store yet, but I successfully added a credit card to Google Pay which previously wouldn't work.

I will let you know if it works at a store when I go to buy something tomorrow.

I have magisk hide enabled. Here's some backstory:
A couple weeks ago I installed the pixel dialer. I wanted to uninstall it becuase it seemed to decrease battery life and wasn't as exciting as I hoped. The only way to do this is to restore a nandroid backup--which I did. When I restored, my pattern lock wouldn't work. I deleted the 5 files responsible for lockscreen security and THEN my IMEI vanished. I guess the backup was no good. Luckily your 1.0.8 came out so I just re-flashed the modems and then your new release and the phone came right up working happily.

So ultimately it's a really dirty flash. And I'm coming from 1.0.7 prerooted. With the beta SU installed.

I can try cleaning up that SU install (not sure how, now that Magisk is running the SU show).

What is the safetynet check looking for that might make it fail?

I'd recommend a clean install.

Clean and right to magisk no restoring backups start clean. Do not restore any backups it will kill it.

You do not need to pass unless your going to use google pay or other apps that block root.

Will even restoring a titanium apps+system backup kill it?

Android pay is one I'd like to use. Also after seeing the latest news on Netflix blocking rooted phone installs... it's nice to have safetynet passing.

have you tried disabling systemless hosts and usb debugging, enabling hide, and then rebooting?

Yeah it may depends if any of the apps have root hooks. The Whole reason for making this update / ROM was to rid it of root hooks to allow this to work. But when we are telling you clean you have to wipe data on internal storage like .Android folder and so on. What I do is pull my photos and music, ect to my pc and I wipe everything on the phone flash ROM Root and setup. Think of it as a new phone and start clean lol. Just try it start clean clean clean WIPE everything. Then flash rom, root pass the NET and restore backups a few at a time taking note of each one you do. Keep checking the net as you go so if one of them trigger it you will know for the next time.

Good luck.

I don't think you will pass safety net with Xposed. Even with hide.

Disable Xposed, restart and see what happens.

I could be wrong, but I think Xposed even with magisk is an issue for safetynet

I've been tossing around the idea of a new phone as I enjoy NFC pay capabilities. Very excited to try this soon. Might even get Snapchat back.

I removed root and xposed. Then I dirty flashed 1.0.8 with magisk and systemless Xposed. Safety net is working.
Thanks for the links.

I previously had a clean install of 1.07 rooted with SuperSU. Removed root and dirty flashed 1.08, downloaded Magisk Manager from PlayStore and rooted with Magisk v12.0. I get the error message, "SafetyNet Failed: CTS profile mismatch."

Any suggestions from the experts? TIA!

Uninstall Xposed framework and app first.Use super su to do complete unroot and then clear dalvik/cache. Then flash magisk from recovery. Verify safety net works. Then if your good there proceed to install systemless Xposed.
