Just a tip: You can also type dmesg | grep PANEL instead of a simple dmesg, so you don't have to search for the exact line.

To find out which panel you have:
Use terminal emulator (free from the market) and run the command dmesg (root is not needed obviously)

it will output a bunch of stuff.. look for this line and report it: (if you can't find it you can long press on the output in terminal emulator copy all and then paste it into an email and send it to yourself)
just look for the line (the numbers might not be the same) [ 9178.895111] Panel Type = PANEL_ID_PYD_??????

Mine is sharp so my line is Panel Type = PANEL_ID_PYD_SHARP

I know this thread is quite old, but I believe I found something interesting that I cannot find in previuos posts.

I recently got a second Sensation with a cracked but working digitizer from a colleague and I immediatly noticed the LCD was different to mine. Mine has the AUO display and the other one the SHARP. Color difference and the smoother scrolls are clearly noticeable in the Sharp LCD.

As I liked best how the Sharp looks, I tried to interchange LCDs, keeping the PCB and digitizer of my original phone but using the new LCD. The suprising result is, with this combination of parts, the phone looks like a Sharp one (cold color temperature) but feels like an AUO one (motion blur while scrolling).

I tested all possible combinations of this tree components (PCB, LCD, and digitizer) and I can conclude the reason for the tearing and the motion blur while scrolling is not the LCD but the digitizer! Any combination of components which has the digitizer initially installed with AUO display has the motion blur and tearing, despite of which LCD or mainboard I use. In fact I have now a Sharp with tearing and a smooth AUO. It feels like the sample rate of AUO digitizer is lower or something like that. I don't know if somethig about this could be tweaked in the kernel.

lcd for sensation

Hello.
I've just got my Sensation lcd broken.
Looking for a new one (all the frame, lcd+touch screen) I've found two different models that should be ok for my phone.
They both have code 74H02067 but in one that code is followed by 00M (and date 2011.06.28-Z) while in the the other by 02M (and date 2012.04.02-Z).
Do you know if they're both compatible with my phone or if one it's better then the other?
Thanks.
Luigi.
