Yeah, just had to replace my motherboard and revisiting all this. This worked for me along with renaming the autorun.iso file..... Need to have root and hiddenmenu enabled. Dial *#0808# and tick MTP + ADB setting for USB option and reboot phone. Now my phone connects as MTP straight away.

I tried this trick on my LG G4, the autorun.iso is actually in the /system folder, I renamed and it still pops up Verizon junk first on the PC as soon as I connect the USB cable.
