It also work with a ASUS mb169b+ for screen mirroring. This monitor is a USB Type A, so to run it you'll need the DisplayLink app (DisplayLink Presenter)

I'm soon to find out if it works with DeX when my dock arrives. I am really hoping it does.

To be honest I see no reason why it won't work, as the (DisplayLink Presenter) app simply mirrors whats on the screen. So I'm counting on it mirroring DeX as well.

Just wondering if this worked for you. I have an AOC brand portable USB A monitor that I am trying to use. Have tried every adapter, etc. that I can think of to utilize the HDMI out port, but no luck. Any ideas?

Dex isn't quite as simple as mirroring. Samsung put a couple of checks in kernel for a specific vendor id name of whatever it is connected to. If it doesn't find this, dex wont launch. Galaxy s8 Oreo beta 2 & 3 would launch dex without this check, but if you can't get your hands on this, only option is to run a custom kernel that doesnt check for this id (such as notorious kernel)
