is there anybody who can help me? I connected the Pixel to my Macbook Pro and Android File Transfer window pops up as supposed to do.... i also can see the listed files - but if i try to open the camera file i do not have access as the Android File Transfer App says
f your device's screen is locked, disconnect its USB cable, unlock your screen, and then reconnect the USB cable.

AFT works horridly on MacOS... Make sure you have the latest version of AFT on your MacOS... Then proceed with the steps you undertook, and get to the point where you see the filea in AFT. At this point, use the notification to set the USB mode to "MTP" manually. If this doesn't work, since you're trying to get pictures from the phone, also try PTP and using the Photos app on your MacBook Pro.

Good look.

Try the following:
Close AFT on MacOS, select PTP in notifications, and try opening Photos on MacBook Pro to use the Photos import tool.

Good luck.

I expext an uodate to AFT within the month, or at least hope for one!

AFT is so flaky for me. I've got it to work now but I'm using the USB A to type C cables I bought for my 6P, they work better than the one that came with the Pixel, otherwise it does not work.

I rely pretty heavily on AFT for transfering files between my Nexus phones and my Macbook Pro. My Pixel arrives Tuesday. When it does I'll give AFT a try right away with both the Pixel USB cable and the cable that came with my Nexus 6P and let you know what my results are.

Sorry, been busy. Unfortunately, I tried both the 6P USB cable as well as the Pixel USB cable. Neither of them worked and AFT just froze. However, this is the first time I have tried using AFT since upgrading to MacOS. I honestly think the issue is solely with AFT/MacOS and not the Pixel/cable. Especially since I am able to do ADB/Fastboot commands with the Pixel using Terminal with no issues.
