Considering buying this - As of April 2016 are the heating/throttling issues sorted?

Hi guys,

I've wanted this phone for quite a while but the initial reviews I read last year mentioned the issues with 810 overheating and cpu throttling.

Just wondering, have these issues been at all sorted through perhaps firmware updates etc in the year and a bit since this handset has been out?

I won't be playing games, but probably moderate youtube use and the occasional movie.

go for the G4 bro this device have a lot of things that doesn't just work as intended like software updates and bootloader unlock and the ability to flash a custom recovery thats besides the heating issue its not resolved permanently

Well the phone is still really good especially for the low price
If you don't care about ROMs, buy it.
I think the update to Android 6 will come at some point.

the ergonomics of a bent phone are unbeatable . does not get hot with normal use now .

Not getting hot anymore,just as other phones. But i would rather choose something else,support is awful,from both LG and custom ROM devs.

Support from devs is not awful it's impossible because of lg.

Just don't have screen brightness at max with every single radio enabled, you'll be good.

I find the screen makes my eyes go funny. If i pick up a normal phone after using the flex 2, it makes the screens on them look like they are bowing outwards lol. No heating problems though.

i have a lg g3 2gb ram now love it. (afcors custom rom)
but anyway for that price it's not bad, maybe one day it will get custom roms like the g3

Yes,for 168€ amazing device. I bought mine 5 moths ago for 260€,and even then it was great price. But the updates are horrible from LGs side.

totaly i love if. okay the poled screen isn't really beautiful... i see pixels every time or some sort of pixels.
the screen on my g3 is better ips is still better
but otherwise performance is good really fast and snappy
me g3 with custom rom (fulimcs based on 6.0 stock rom) works great but the 2k screen is to heavy for the s801
anyway i really like it it's fast and i played 10min gta san didnt feel anyheat or lagg at max settings
