Contact/MMS/Full backup to without using google

I have an epic 4g which I do not like very much (if it did not have a keyboard it would be awesome), I am running all stock on it and I have a lot of data and text messages that I would like to transfer over to my EVO, is there a program that this would be easily accomplished with?

I am really hoping that I can back up the data to an SD card (on my Epic 4G) and pop that SD card into my EVO and click, click, tap, tap all my data is restored.



On a side note, is this sort of thing easy to do with gmail?

Backing up/transferring contacts is easy without any 3rd party apps.

*note, I'm using Huawei Ascend running 2.1, but these instructions should be about the same.

To backup:
Open Contacts > press Menu > More > Manage Contacts > Backup to SD Card. Your contacts will be saved in a vcf format, located on your sd card in Contacts folder.

To Restore:
Open Contacts > press Menu > More > Manage Contacts > Restore from SD Card.

Depending on which message app you have, there should be an option to backup sms/mms.
