Contact picture resized

I put pictures for my contacts in Outlook 2007 on my PC and each picture was 240x320. They display fine both on the computer and pocket PC, but when I tried to enable a "full screen caller id" function the image looked very distorted... my best guess is that outlook resized the picture down (or the pocket pc did upon sync)... is there any way to avoid this as when one or the other scales the picture down it makes it impossible to have a larger size or a "full screen caller id" feature...
