My volume rocker fell off my sensation as well, also after removing the back I found the power on/off button is coming away from the case as well (with case fitted the left side of button is flat aganst the case)
Anyway just contacted HTC UK and they are sending a new back as soon as possible.
I asked whether this is a common problem and was told that it is not and i am just unlucky and got a dodgy one.
I hope so this one lasted only seven weeks, So by my reckoning will need another 14 or so to see me to the end of my contract

Just a fyi for all the people who do battery pulls to "reset" the phone during a phone freeze or bootloop. If you have a recovery installed on your phone and have a pc near you with Android ADK installed. Plug in your phone, bring up a command screen/dos screen to run adb and type "ADB REBOOT" And after that your phone should reboot itself. And if you want to reboot to fast boot type in "ADB reboot fastboot" and if you want to get to your recovery, type in "ADB reboot recovery" and that would send you to your installed recovery.

I went this way because I have a Seidio active case and it's a bit of a pain to keep getting into the phone to take the case off and do a battery pull everytime the phone goes into a boot loop or stuck at a screen. This would in turn, lessen the amount of times one would take off the case and the rockers would stay intact. Just my .02.

GREAT TIP!

As my luck would have it, it usually freezes up when I am out and about. I once had to use my "rock solid abs" as the flat surface to take off the Seidio case...:D

Or else you press power button, volume up and volume down at the same time. Also makes the phone reboot.

Not a good solution for those whose volume rocker fell off lol :D

Done a little bit of beta testing and had to pull the battery quite often... Didn't think of the possibility to just use adb.

Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda premium

Sometimes the comp doesn't recognize the phone at all. At that point, I try to "wake up" the device by unpluging and replugging the device. If all fails, then I have no option but to do a battery pull.

I just try to avoid it if possible. :D
