I have to say this is VERY disappointing. Here we are on May 15th and with my brand new, UK-sourced Find X3 Pro, OPPO have still not released the APRIL security updates. This is their flagship phone and it's only just released, so should be receiving their full attention with bug-fixes and what-have-you.

God help us when the phone is 1 year old and they are "concentrating" on the 2022 model.

I deliberated for a long time on whether to get the Find X3 Pro or the Galaxy 21 Ultra, and overall I do like the phone very much. But to be on the March patches when Samsung have already released the May ones, is frankly pretty pathetic.

Yip. Very very disappointing. And I call them out on it on every social media advert for the X3 .

My wife's 2019 Samsung A70 is on the April patch. A very mid range device.
My Note20ultra received the May patch on the 6th, bang on the average for it over the past 9 months.

So, the X3 Pro. Released in April. Still on the March patch. Android Auto still has bugs carried over from the X2. The advertised theme store does not exist in the UK.

I also thought about getting the S21U. ( I have had a good shot ) But wanted something different. Now, I love this phone. It's way more comfortable as an actual phone. It has the 888 over exynos. The cameras ( nonsense microscope aside ) are fantastic. ( My IG @biomulv ).

I had a feeling about oppo support. It seems it was correct.

I've received the security update yesterday on my X3PRO but the phone is pretty much slower while scrolling then before. It's still on the adaptive refreshrate and restarted it several times but even when typing this message there is a delay between every letter im writing. It's very annoying and also a simple game isnt working like before.

Anyone else have the same problem and is it possible to download the older security update? Im feeling like im typing on a 30hz mobile :/

Thanks in advance!

Never works for me either. Still on the March security updates! This is piss poor - Samsung have already released April and May and will probably release June next week.

These Chinese wannabes really need to wake up and realise that if you want to be top dog, there's more to it than just the hardware. You have to actually put some effort into support and software updates etc. Yes there is cost involved but it's necessary unless you want to stay as an interesting niche player with bigger all market share.

A17 version with May security patch is available so patience.

Let me ask u a question...why these security patches are SO important to you? You know that the chance that someone or something will use some android bugs to get to your bank account are close to ZERO...

Well said, I've never understood why people are so desperate for an update that they won't even notice a difference with.

Oppo could release an update with 0 changes and they'd want it

I've been with Samsung my whole life (Galaxy S series) and actually 90% of updates don't do anything :) Put a changelog, but you don't really notice any improvement. In addition, many times the updates spoil something and with the next one they correct it ...
Now with Oppo there are not many errors to fix . The month of May is still not over and many of us have received the security patch for May. .. If someone is late, it is as easy as using a VPN and the update appears

The above is really quite an idiotic post.

Where exactly did I say I would like to be careless with my security? I am *hyper* security conscious, for reasons I need not go into. You should be too!

That is why I would like to ensure that known Android insecurities are patched, if such patches are available. That you are happy for insecurities to exist, and to run without the patches, without a care in the world? Well that says a lot.
Where exactly did I say specifically you would like to be careless with your security? Read my previous post again - I did not say that and I did not mean to offend you. If you are selfaware user thats good, this is unfortunately not common among others.

Im just saying that I cannot understand why people are soooo demanding about these security updates since they dont even know what google is fixing with them...if there is a high risk we would have already seen articles/news how google ****ed up with the security.

So basically a month or two delay with getting a security update is no harm for you...believe me. If something bad happen specifically with your phone due to lack of latest security patch - its like winning a lottery ticket.

As a software engineer I can assure you that your banking apps/financial portals are more insecure than google.

Moreover in general software build by developers contains many external libraries developed by many other developers...basically at each level/component you can have security issue or security bug raised and this bug can wait months to be fixed by the dev teams - you know why? Cause the chance of using this security vulnerability is close to 0 or they just dont have time to fix it.

Of course every software (especially in banking sector) has to go through security scanning, only the HIGH risk elements have to be fixed. Medium and Minor ones can be fixed later with no rush.

I'm also in the UK, on an unbranded phone bought directly from Oppo (I've got CPW in the firmware code as well)

Still on the March security update as shown in the first screenshot

Lol, that's worse. It's mid may and they havnt even got a global April release yet. Their website states promised monthly patches . .... Great.
I got the update, even though I'm not on Vodafone neither my phone is bought or related Vodafone.
Use Freedom Vpn and choose France... That's how i got it
