So I got the xperia z (C6602) as a gift a month ago. I was happy with the device, till a few days ago I took the phone out of my pocket to find the screen (the inner one) cracked in the middle!! The upper portion of the screen doesn't respond to touch, while the lower portion works fine. I took the phone to SONY repair center over here in Saudi Arabia, and they denied fixing it under warranty. I was told they can't fix the screen, and my only option is to swap it for a new one and the price is 450 US dollars.
I was wearing a pair of Caterpillar Workwear Essentials Trademark Trousers and the phone was inside of right front pocket, didn't drop the phone or anything! I'll upload some pictures.
I had an xtremeguard screen protector on the screen; no cover. I was looking online for a cover a few days ago though
Edit: pics
I spoke to their manager, and he said that it's possible to break the internal screen without breaking the outer one if you press on it with your finger!!!!!
I'm not accepting NO for this BS! I'll take it up with whoever till I get this resolved. I have a family member who's traveling to the US next month; I think I'll have him take it with him to a US based repair service and have them look at it. If it's anything like APPLE, they'll fix this, right?
