+1Wait...so the canadian orders didn't work for the US customers? This makes me feel slightly less bad about overpaying for it, I was thinking of sending it back with a "return to sender" to get a refund without opening it, but I'm considering keeping it now.
Do the charging cables work at same speed as stock charger?I received my case. As others noted, it works fairly well. I think it is very safe to say that it is NOT leather. In fact, it isn't even a very good imitation of leather. That being said, for money, it seems to work pretty well.
Mine included silicone cases as well, and those seem to be decent quality. The charging accessories work, but appear to be very low quality, so I do not expect them to work for very long. . .
Nope. They are simple microUSB chargers.Do the charging cables work at same speed as stock charger?
From 1.1 Nook Color with 1.1 ghz overclock
The fish is for winding headphones on.I ordered the 17-piece package a week ago and the package has just arrived. As others have pointed out, the case is clearly not made of leather, but otherwise it is well made and doesn't feel like it would fall apart in 3 months. The folding mechanism works, in both lanscape & portrait (the latter is "off-label" use but it works well). The two pieces of magnets is of little use.
The retractable charging cable is for recharging only. The normal usb-microusb cable can be used for charging & data.
The headphone is cheap but works. The silicon case fits really well and stinks. REALLY stinks.
I have not tried the screen saver. The booklight looks cheap but works well. I have no idea what that black foam "fish" is.
The AC-DC charger is very 'dirty' -- I plug it into an outlet next to a radio and the radio buzzes. I've never seen that before. To the experts: would that affect the Nook?
For $10.50 total it's a good deal.
EDIT: the leather case completely covers the speakers.
I have the same touch-screen problem when I use the AC charger: each time I press the on-screen keyboard I get two, three, sometimes even 7 characters. My guess is that it is related to the charger's output being 'dirty' (cf. my post #54). I don't have this problem when I use my cellphone charger (0.5A) or the original nook charger.Edit: Spoke too soon. Nook behaves weird when plugged into A/C charger. The output is 1Amp (stock charger is 1.9 Amps). Not sure if that has anything to do with it but touchscreen response is pretty poor and erratic to say the least. Remove the charger and works fine.
