this is not true.. if the last bit says xaa then it means he mustve used a paid service to sim/carrier unlock the device which changes the last bit to xaa.

n976v is definitely a verizon n10+ 5g.. i know because i had one for a while and did exhaustive research on it..

also, gcf isnt verizon.. no one knows exactly what it is but its some sort of global configurarion.. it also shouldnt be used..

that being said, the n976v only has a few possible csc i think like 4.. vzw gcf and one or two others related to vzw..

it should work tho once unlocked on other carriers but dont expect carrier specific stuff to work.. he might just need to change apn settibns..

to add, i dont think xaa is a csc on n976v.. so that could be part of his problem if and of the sales code or csc code is xaa..

fyi the xxx/xxx/xxx are sales code network code and last set is carrier id.
I know what the CSCs are/mean. Thr last CSC can not be changed. At least no one has been able to change it so far. It's hard-coded in and represents where the device originally came from. SIM unlocking it won't change that. I know from personal experience. I've bought many carrier locked Galaxy devices and unlocked them through 3rd party services. That last CSC won't change. Only the first two can be changed.

I have a Note 10+ (975U1) bought from Samsung that originally showed XAA/XAA/XAA and after activating on VZW it now shows VZW/VZW/XAA so I can confirm your information.

Joking aside, I wasn't even aware that there was a specific Verizon version of this device. Learned something new on here. Wonder why they did this?
The major carriers are partnered with Samsung; joined at the hip. They are actively involved with Samsung in the design; hardware, firmware and software for those devices.

For example AT&T had the S4 active variant of the S4. The last firmware update did nothing other than make an easy root impossible.
For the customer the end results of this partnership many times isn't to their advantage.
Been there, done that... and still rake them over the coals for it... from time to time.
Feel the wuv.

I was referring to internal hardware radio compatibility wise. During the last good few years most if not all Samsung USA devices have been identical in that area and one could cross flash firmware. Then all of a sudden they throw in this curve ball. Is the Note 20 VZW like this also? I doubt it .
Or is the note 10 plus 5G solely/ exclusive for VZW?

For this particular variant I have no insight.
AT&T has the 5G variant as well I believe.
If others with same carrier variant can do it then it's a different issue.
Just don't be surprised if one variant is different enough to be incompatible.
Eventually it will get sorted out... by brave, stout souls🧐
