BiTGApps Stable Release (v1.9)

We are doing this release after more than 3 months, so there are alot of changes. Lets break it down step by step:
  • This release serve Packages in two categories, Standard and Variants. Standard BiTGApps Package is minimal which includes the Core Google Apps like Google Play Services (GMS), Google Services Framework (GSF), Google Play Store and other essentials. Variants like Basic and Omni which includes everything from Standard with more useful Google Apps like Dialer, Contacts, Messages, etc. Variants have different set of Google Apps.
  • Updated Additional Packages (Addons), with major fixes in ARM Platform and some required in ARM64.
  • Updated core google apps from Android 7.1.1 to Android 10 for both ARM & ARM64 Platform.
  • Updated Pixel Launcher, fixed text select feature in Android 11 and added missing ASI package.
  • Smart Space, its a new feature in this release to fix low space issue on dirty flashing larger package. Suppose you have installed BiTGApps Omni Package of 400MB and now you're left with 100MB's or even less space in system. Obviously re-flashing is not possible unless their is sufficient space. But with this feature, installer first check for already installed GAPPS and then exclude entire space occupied by those GAPPS means the requirement of free space is ZERO. With that, you will be able to re-flash package even if 100MB or 50MB or even less space left in system. Shipped our own version of Busybox to achieve this.
  • Addons must be installed on top of BiTGApps before first boot.
  • SetupWizard is already included in BiTGApps (Standard & Variants).
  • Many fixes and improvements under the hood.

Hey, I don't completely understand if it's possible to upgrade from standard BiTGApps to Omni without losing all my data. Which partitions exactly do have to be wiped in recovery for this to work?

hi @TheHitMan can I request for an additional package? if allowed I would like to request YouTube for an additional package

thanks in advance to @TheHitMan and the developers of bitgapps
Don't think many people at all would like youtube filling up their device flashed in gapps. Among others is Revanced, which has no ads and is more customizable. Easily installed after flashing

BiTGApps Debloater

Make BiTGApps Happy 😃

Debloater came useful, when you want to install BiTGApps but running out of some couple MB's in System. This allows you to remove selected system apps. You can even use this to remove system apps, you think of less value or left unused.

Features
  • It can remove apps from system, product & system_ext partitions.
  • It can handle folder name like, If system has ModuleMetaData folder then you just need to write module in debloater config.
  • It can also take care of capital & small letters in name. You don't have to write something specifically in debloater config.
  • Add debloater list to OTA survival script, upon ROM upgrade the same set of apps will be removed, leaving sufficient space for BiTGApps restore. At this stage, we don't need debloater config which makes it easy to use.
This feature will be available with next BiTGApps Release. You just have to add Apps List in debloater config.

Trying to use the latest OMNI with CRDroid in Poco F3. It doesn't start the Android Setup wizard but the CrDroid version. How can I force it?

I tried an old setupWizard.zip I had lying around. This starts the Android Setup Wizard however connectiong to (any) WiFi network is impossible.

I installed gboard as a addon, but it doesn't work nor open
Same happened to me after reading installation instructions just understood you should install add-ons before rom boots first time or you have to factory reset after installing add-ons after rom booted

How to flash the gapps with kernelSu? Adding ro.config.systemless=true line inside bitgapps.conf file and placing the file inside zip as will as the root of internal storage still gives the error "specified file not found in the archieve" while flashing with kernelSu.
This feature will be available with next release. You forget to read badge in the end.

I'll try DozeOff (from F-Droid) for a while and see how I go. I assume the rom would respond to the "adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable" command?
Once "Don't optimize" you can see those apps in whitelist list. Run this command in terminal emulator, if rooted.

May I know this can install GMS to Android 12 TV version? (RK3588 ARM64 BOX)
There is no TV version of BiTGApps.

Hi, TheHitMan. Thank you for your work.

I'm wondering if there is a way to disable doze mode for Google Play Services, as I've been getting unreliable or delayed delivery of messages since using bitgapps.

And just to clarify, I have both Google Play Services and Messenger set to Unrestricted in the battery options.

    Hi All,

Welcome to the official BiTGApps Release thread!

A Custom Google Apps Package which contain Minimal, But has all the required Google Applications to get Google Services functionality. It comes with many useful features and easy installation.

BiTGApps support additional features like Battery Optimization for Google Play Services and its component. Smart Space feature allows re-flashing of BiTGApps even with insufficient space in system.

    About The BiTGApps Project
BiTGApps is a Google Apps Package with Minimal installation. Minimal, but still provide proper Google Services functionality. Even the variants like Mini and Omni which has extras but still comes with relevant Google Apps, not to fill your device system space with unneeded Google stuff. Simplicity, but straight to the point is what BiTGApps all about. The idea behind this project is having a Google Apps Package with relevant stuffs and no bloats at all. It does not focus on having several Package Variations unlike other Google Apps Packages.
    Features of BiTGApps
    • All Platforms and All Android Versions are Supported
    • Minimal Build with Package size less than 80MB
    • Enabled Doze Mode for Google Play Services
    • It comes with wide range of freeware Addons
    • Offers Seamless OTA Updates through Survival Script
    • Small size for easy Download and Installation
    • Variants like Mini and Omni with extra Google Apps
Google Apps should be installed via recovery immediately after installing Custom ROM. If you reboot into system before installing Google Apps, you must factory reset and then install them, otherwise expect crashes.

    Advance Features
    • You can flash BiTGApps from booted device with ease
    • BiTGApps can be installed as Magisk or KernelSU module
    Advance features are OPTIONAL!

The latest builds of BiTGApps for Android can be downloaded from the BiTGApps Homepage.
Additional information is available at the website.

Please don't publicly mirror the Prebuilt Packages instead link users to Homepage, to ensure that users will always be directed to the very latest version of the BiTGApps.

    BiTGApps Stable Release (v2.3)

This update is a minor revamp of BiTGApps Project and clean flash is recommended. How we distributed Packages and GApps within them is changed.
    • Main approach here is to keep things minimal with relevant stuffs and no bloats at all. Checkout updated Package Comparisons here or website.
    • This update brings back Doze mode for Google Play Services. That battery optimization thing.
    • Moved to AndroidAuto Stub Package to fix some issues with its use.
    • Config file is also updated, it is now bitgapps.conf instead of bitgapps-config.prop; Relevant for SetupWizard users. Get it from website as it require some reading.
    • With this release, we started to save installation logs in internal storage and /system/etc (if encrypted data), usually named as bitgapps_debug_logs_xx.tar.gz
📦 Latest release can be found at https://bitgapps.io
