That's sad. I wonder if it would be possible to secure funding for an unofficial EU-rom? I would happily donate some money for this.Never going to happen. I asked, and was told in a rude tone that we should not expect to have them do the extra work that is required to do that on foldales...
After the release of Pixel Fold there will probably be a port at some point. This will be a lot better option than MIUIThat's sad. I wonder if it would be possible to secure funding for an unofficial EU-rom? I would happily donate some money for this.
That is just the latest China ROM...What about this ?

Talk to me about how you got Android auto working... What? You didn't?Why are people so obsessed with global and EU rom? And unlocking the bootloader? Stay stock, stay locked, just debloat everything. I use the Fold 2 as my daily phone, everything works perfectly in the UK, banking, wireless payment, SkyGo, Netflix etc....
Never needed it, but you're saying I should root my phone so all the apps I need don't work properly, but android auto does? Bit strange....Talk to me about how you got Android auto working... What? You didn't?
Some weeks ago after reading your earlier comment, I decided to try again. I did a clean MIUI14 Install and tested everything I use. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 pro will not connect in any way or form. Also, Google Wallet was not working (although it might be detecting the unlocked bootloader) same for Lloyds Bank app. some apps automatically change their content to Chinese one...Well, half of what things don't work, bit vague? My Huawei watch connects perfectly, maybe you need the China WareOS software? I did with some of my previous Xiaomi phones. I've yet to find something I use or need that doesn't work. I get notifications without any issues, I have removed the China dialler and similar and replaced them with google versions, same for gallery, it's gone too. Literally the only stock apps left are Themes, Cloud Backup, GetApps and the default security software.
Maybe I'm just lucky, and I simply don't use any of the apps that don't work, who knows. I did spend a great deal of time when I initially received the phone, learning what I could completely and safely uninstall with universal-android-debloater. There isn't much China left in my phone at all! lol
The Fold 2 is actually one of the best phones I have ever owned, and it has sold me on the fold concept completely. It runs smooth and silky with amazing battery life. I have owned a great many phones too, I tend to get the upgrade itch quite a bit!
Compared to the old Xiaomi phones of the last ten years or so, debloating stock and staying locked really is the best and simplest option for me. It seems most of the apps can be totally removed without the "boot loop" and "hey nice brick" scenario you would have run into not so long ago.
And I won't go near any .EU rom ever again, those mods are a bunch of....
Well my bootloader is locked. So there's the main difference. Of course things will detect the unlocked bootloader. It's a non secure environment. Some weeks ago after reading your earlier comment, I decided to try again. I did a clean MIUI14 Install and tested everything I use. I rooted, installed Magisk, and the patches and things work fine again.
If things work for you, perfect! It all depends on usage...

Hi. Call quality has been amazing. Dual sim, three or vodafone. Speakerphone or otherwise.Have you had anyone mentioning poor audio quality when making phone calls?
I have both a Giffgaff and a Three SIM in my phone and both of them sound completely awful when making normal calls; muffled, and like I'm underwater.
Phone calls using anything online (WhatsApp/Discord etc.) sound perfectly crisp.
Sounds amazing for me when I listen to other people, but apparently anything from my end is awful (which I can confirm with recorded phone calls).Hi. Call quality has been amazing. Dual sim, three or vodafone. Speakerphone or otherwise.
Strange, no complaints about call quality from the other end either? I'm using Google dialer, not stock.Sounds amazing for me when I listen to other people, but apparently anything from my end is awful (which I can confirm with recorded phone calls).
Honestly the only thing letting down this otherwise incredible phone.
