Custom ROM for Sharp Aquos R3 808SH S2006

Hi everyone,

I have a Sharp Aquos R3 808SH with build number S2006 and I want to try some custom ROMs on it. I searched online but I could not find any custom ROMs for this device model. Does anyone know if there are any custom ROMs available for this device or if someone is working on developing one? I would appreciate any help or guidance on this matter. Thanks in advance.

If you looked around on Google, Discord, and Telegram and found nothing, there is unlikely anybody currently developing for this device.

For another approach: if you want to try the below, make sure you have a good way to restore your system/OS if anything goes wrong.

In the case of developing one for yourself, you can try a tutorial from the AOSP.

You'll need to get ahold of this device's proprietary binaries (vendor, kernel, device). Do you know what the device name is? For example, the device name of my POCO F3 is 'alioth'. That will help in looking up whether those are available via Github.

Otherwise, if your device supports Treble, you can try a Generic System Image (GSI). This can be risky, though, because not all GSIs are 100% compatible with all devices.
