LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/

great!! i'm going to try this in the next few days :)

does this support signature spoofing for microG?
does this need some specific SW binaries/ODM installation or does this work with stock ODM image?

thanks for your work

This ROM has nothing related with ODM/SW/SODP and based on stock blobs&kernel

thanks,
just flashed it today, it seems to work fine.

but then i enabled encryption and... now the device is bootlooping.
"trust" app reported SELinux as "disabled" instead of "permissive".

Thanks for report, we'll check it. Disabled = permissive, kinda no difference.

I'm excited that msm8956 is still being maintained, even Lineage 18.1 is on road, I still hold my Xperia X Compact. Thank you so much.

Finally, what I've been waiting for, can't wait to flash the rom. But can you please tell me if it drains battery on idle like it does on stock nougat and oreo? I'm gonna try it anyway but I'm just curious that's all, thanks! :D
Also which GApps would you prefer for better performance? mini,micro,nano or pico?
