How likely is it to get custom ROM support for OnePlus 7T? Since the 7 is still far behind in number of custom ROMs. Many popular ROMs doesn't support the 7. What do you all think?

My guess is that some ROMs, Magisk ones in particular, will continue to work on the 7T. xXx's ROM works all the way back to the 5/5T. I imagine it'll end up working on the 7T.

Op7t will be released worldwide just like op7 pro. Whereas op7t pro will not be released in US (except mclaren). So if you want custom rom support either get op7t or op7pro(non t).
Yes if I buy OnePlus I will buy the 7T as opposed to 7T Pro. Thanks for clarifying.

If I buy OP 7T, I will use OxygenOS for the first 2 years and then switch to Custom Rom for the final 3rd year of usage.

Anyone else planning to buying and using for 3 years minimum ?

I usually keep my phone for two years. I'm on the Pixel 2 XL now and I'm planning on getting the oneplus 7t this week. The pixel 4xl looks like it's going to be about $1,400 CDN dollars and that's too much. When I get the 7t, I will unlock the bootloader, so if I want to root it afterwards, I can.

Will you use OxygenOS or will you swap to Custom Roms as soon as one that suits you becomes available ?

I've never tried OxygenOS, but everything I've read sounds good, so I'll definitely stay on it for awhile. I've tried most of the custom ROMs on my pixel, but now on Android 10, I'm on stock and I like it.

Out of interest why won't you wait for Pixel 4 XL ?

I would not recommend switching to the OP 7 or 7T from pixel if you are on pixel for the camera. The disappointment is real LOL although EVERYTHING else about the OP7 is better then the pixel (I had P2XL and P3XL) the camera is really really bad. Just a heads up!

What about using a GCam? Still not comparable with Pixel?

Cool then get the OP7 (T) its one of the best overall phones I have had!
I found someone today here in Toronto who is selling his oneplus 7 pro, brand new, sealed in the box for $550 CDN. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon. This is too good to be true. I'm not going to pass up the 7 pro and this price to get the 7t later this week.

Guys, all the details are now revealed of OnePlus 7T (check XDA site for all details). What do you guys think now of custom ROM support for 7T? Will it end up with low development like OnePlus 7?

You could run Magisk ROMs like xXx on the all variants down to the 5. That will likely continue as the 7T are just upgraded versions of the 7 and 6T. You may just have to look in the other forums. If you're looking for a full ROM, that may be a different story.

I'm jumping and putting my 7 Pro up for sale next month. Hate the curved screen. Every time I use it and it does something weird, I keep thinking back to the old Apple idiocy of "you're holding it wrong."
