I had the same issue using Settings-res.apk on post #3.
I had to unpack, modify and repack myself.

this happens because the systemui-res.apk that im using is from mobile upgrade s for alcatel build 1006. sorry bout that. but im sharing the file to be put on \res\drawable-xxhdpi\ic_settings_home.png

as im experimenting i manage to have kitkat via mobile upgrade (alcatel build 1006) maybe when i flash the pro_info. tried it a lot of times. for alcatel owner you can try this to flash with flashtoolmod (not sp flash tool). file attached

Hi, any smooth AOSP/CM rom for this phone? I dun know why this phone can't as smooth as my Samsung GS4, i believe is caused by the launcher/ROM rather than hardware spec.

I thought after i used custom kitkat ROM will get rid of those micro stuttering during menu scroll/browse/navigate, but sadly the interface still same as stock stock and the stuttering still remained. (I wish is those AOSP smooth and fluid interface).

You should be careful, as there is the 6040A and the 6040D (The A has only one sim, while the D has dual-sim support). I'm not sure if the roms are compatible between the two because of that. I've been checking here, to no avail though. If you have any experience in building roms, though, the source code for the roms (All 6040 variants) are available to work with. I linked them a couple pages back in the main Idol X thread.

Edit: After looking a ton in that 4PDA thread, the KitKat rom seems to be compatible with all variants of the Idol X, the A, D, and E models. I'm going to look into finding a source for it so that one can attempt to build a CM11 (And perhaps 12) rom for this down the road. I came from an Ace II X/Galaxy Trend and I had CM11 on it, and I kid you not I really miss it.

Hi bro i already installed the kitkat ROM and FYI, i upgrade using mobile upgrade S after installed this custom ROM and now i got 4.4.2 01006 build.
Why i suspected the ROM because i owned a old school Sony Xperia Mini Pro as well, that phone is a single core phone (MDPI). Stock is ICS and got micro stutter problem when scroll menu.
After i flashed it with CM11, i can feel the phone is alive, so smooth, even on par with my Samsung GS4 stock ROM, that's why i think ROM can make night and day different, while from Jelly Bean to Kitkat on Idol X is like nothing change, still lag and micro stuttering still exist, except the build no. has upgraded.

Just installed this rom and realized that this rom eat batery much than previous version...

Do you guys notice that FW4.4.2 1006 battery drain faster than usual? And i go to battery saving mode it drains even more faster then normal....

no problem for me. try installing clean master or deep sleep battery. i tested my battery recently 4 hours of screen usage wifi on in battery saving mode. try not to use vibration and disable audible selection. i only use 1 widget (chronus) on homescreen and nova launcher

Its quite normal if i do not activate the battery saving mode... once i deactivate it and it seems back to normal. Seems like the battery saving mode is not working here.

Its quite normal if i do not activate the battery saving mode... once i deactivate it and it seems back to normal. Seems like the battery saving mode is not working here.

for me battery saving mode seem working fine. screen brightness set to 40%, sleep after 1 minute of inactivity, disabled haptic feedback and audible selection and all apps vibration. leave house at 9am with 82% of battery, now got home 8pm still got 36%. wifi is on all the time. screen total usage 3h 12m 14s
