Disconnect your phone from your computer, follow the steps as stated on the first post of this topic (Run Flashtoolmod / SP Flash Tool), connect the phone as stated on step 6 and cross your fingers.

If no response the change you bricked you're phone is big.

Mobile Upgrade Tool S from Alcatel should restore your phone if a flash goes badly. You simply have to plug in the phone, even if it's not on, and it will flash it for you. It's a great way to recover from most bricks.

Thought I'd ask here, but it seems that the Slimkat ROM is vulnerable to the Stagefright exploit. I don't know Russian, but perhaps could someone post there on 4PDA and inquire about the Slimkat ROM getting an update to fix the vulnerability? I don't really want to be using a vulnerable device. (And perhaps this might encourage Alcatel to release an official Kitkat rom for this phone finally!)

I have a bad problem !!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all I am a beginner so please anyone will help , reply in details and tell me what to do :)

I flashed my Alcatel Idol X 6040D with custom CWM 6X00 , the mobile is rooted and everything worked fine , I tried to make a factory reset but the CWM can`t mound SD card any data ( it`s internal storage no memory slot !!!) , anyway I have formatted the system mistakenly through CWM !!!!!..

The current status of the phone :
- Stuck on Alcatel IDOL X logo screen ( but sometimes i manage to open the CWM recovery )
- The phone is not recognized by the computer

What can I do to make it work again pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase .

Note : I am downloading now the kitkat stock from this thread

Use Mobile Upgrade Tool S to reflash your phone. You just need to plug it in and the application will flash your phone with 4.2.2. It doesn't even need to be turned on. The reroot, install a recovery, and flash a rom of your choosing.

CWM doesn't have SD access, although Carliv does, but it doesn't back up the custpack partition which is very important, but if your rom doesn't have a custpack (Stock-based roms have them) you'll be fine. There's another recovery that works well, I'll have to double check which it was.

Edit: Said recovery is Philz Touch recovery. It supports custpack and SD, so it's the one that everyone should use.

First of all thank you for your reply :) , I`ll try that method when I get back home but one more question this tool requires the phone to be off , ok but when i plug the usb, the phone detects it as a charger and the phone screen light on to be stuck again on alcatel logo , so will it be a problem ?

Nope, it's fine. Mobile Upgrade S will instruct you when to plug in your phone, and if the charge light shows, you just may have to retry.

Thought I'd do this as a cross-post because I have been having issues of my own, and it might not be limited to just my particular model of phone.

So I've been having a funny issue with my phone as of late, and I'm not sure how to go about solving it. For some reason, the WiFi reception on my device became extremely weak to the point that I basically do not have WiFi access on the other end of the apartment, while all my other Android devices do. I've tried Safe Mode on the SlimKat ROM, and I'm considering reflashing stock and seeing if the issue persists. I thought I'd check to see if you've had this issue first though, because I may send in my phone for repairs (YET AGAIN) if this keeps up.
In addition, the top of the device near the ear speaker gets incredibly warm when using WiFi, so I'm wondering if perhaps that heating up of the area might have damaged the WiFi antenna. Even sitting just feet away from my access point at home, the phone registers a "weak" signal. Has this happened to anyone else before?

Stuck at the logo screen

Hi everyone,

I see that this topic is dying slowly, and I hope someone is still watching :fingers-crossed:

First of all, I'm not an expert, so please don't take me wrong, and please help with advice if you can.

Some time ago I decided to flash my Alcatel Idol X (6040) single sim version in order to install custom ROM. I found somewhere (might be on this forum ) instalation guide to install Kit Kat, and followed it step by step and successfully installed custom rom made for TCL 950.

Phone worked like a charm, but recently two things happened... First, HDD on my computer died and I've lost all installation files, including bookmarks of pages where I downloaded them. And second one is that I bought new phone and decided to give this Alcatel to my mother.

As I done it numerous times before I did factory data reset and expected to have clean phone with refreshed Kit Kat. However, I overlooked the fact that I've installed custom rom before.

I had Philz touch recovery (don't remember which version) and I've noticed from the first days that I can't enter the recovery menu like I did it before (power+volume up button) but I didn't care about it because I don't use it frequently. Now, I see on many pages that shortcut for the entering into the Philz touch recovery is power+volume up+home button?! But, as you know this phone doesn't have home button so I can't enter into the recovery mode. :( When I turn on the phone all I get is Alcatel Idol X logo and that's it.... :(:(:(

Does anyone had similar problem and what did you do to overcome it?

Thanks to all in advance, and I'll appreciate any kind of help :good:
