Hello everbody i am new to this forum i have just sold my nexus 7 grouper and my new nvidia note arrives (early xmas) [emoji2] tomorrow

Now i have been flashing since 2010 on my now deceased xperia x10i and flashed every device since (currently sg4)

I have a few questions if someone could help

1. How easy is rooting and am i likely to run into issues with the toolkit

2. Is there any custom roms available ie aosp, cm

And final question is the tegra note 7 the same device as the xolo tegra note? I've looked high and low but can't seem to find the answer

Any hello would be greatfully welcome

I'm assuming you're asking about the Tegra Note, so I'm answering as such:

Sorry man, Tegra Note doesnt have any custom ROMs, though I am working on one based on Jelly Bean OTA (trying to intergrate Cyanogenmod into it now).

Assuming by toolkit you mean SuperTool, no you shouild have no problems, the latest version has a driver installer option.

And finally, yes, the xolo is the same tablet, just made by another company.

Hope that all helps :)

Thanks for answering pal arrived yesterday and runs like a charm except I've had to revert back to 4.2 as 4.4 has the game stutter issue

I recommend running 4.3, more features, more stable, and easier to root (and of course mod).

Of course with the added bonus of being able to update to android 5, when it eventually comes out via OTA (rumours have it that nvidia is planning a release for Lollipop on the note early next year).

P.S. When my ROM is ready and stable enough, I'll leave a link here (in case you still want a custom ROM)

The best OS for gaming is gingerbread, but in the sense of Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean, JB is better due to power efficiency (better battery usage by the tegra core). Seeing as Gingerbread is unavailable for the Tegra, and as far as I'm aware incompatible, nobody is going to make a ROM based on it in the foreseeable future.

This is what I mean by more features:

"A few changes incorporated have improved stylus capabilities along with the addition of support for tablet users who are left-handed [...] Totaling of the Direct Stylus assistance option that will be seen on tablet’s setting menu as well as a new stylus elimination and add an option in the notification panel.

Additionally, NVIDIA has also updated the Tegra’s camera application with the high-dynamic range (AOHDR) constantly-on ability [...]The company messages that the brand new AOHDR specification will make use of the Tegra 4′s CPU capability and computational photography of camera design. The upgrade as well appends video stabilization for an anti-shake video. Traits in the brand new Android 4.3 upgrade comprise security as well as bug fixes."

As well as this the Tegra Core has been optimised, increasing battery life.

Without access to the OTA changelog, I cannot provide a full list of tweaks and additions.
