I'm coming from a GNex, so it sounds like I'll have to use the new sim that comes with the N3. But I was thinking...
It would be nice if once people start getting their phones tomorrow they could give updates here about how their activation went with regards to the unlimited glitch. I, for one, would definitely appreciate it, and I'm sure many others would as well.

And once again the "glitch" never happened when I talked to verizon wireless. I hate the call centers.
If you ordered during the glitch and are having issues, stay strong! Keep insisting that there is an internal memo out there and push the reps to do their homework.

You'll never find it on any official Verizon websites. I've looked.

I'm getting my delivery tomorrow, so the question is do I use my note 2's sim OR the sim included with the note 3 ???
If during the order process it stated that your SIM is not compatible with the phone then you MUST use the SIM included w/ the note 3. This is REGARDLESS of if your SIM is actually compatible or not. That means that the included SIM is the one registered with the upgrade. If it didn't give you this warning, then it's the other way around. You'll get slammed with a full price and potential ETF if you use the wrong SIM.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even see that. I just hope that after a day of climbing poles for Verizon, that I don't have to deal with the wireless side of the company. FYI, they do even less for the outside plant people. Plus my wife's iphone 5s is coming on the 28th...OOOOOOO joy round 2.

Concerning. Does anyone know if the Galaxy Nexus SIM is compatible? I don't recall whether the message I saw said it was or was not compatible. According to shipping details Verizon sent a SIM anyway.

Checked my account online and it current states that my contract ends in 2015 and that I'm eligible for upgrade in 2015. This leads me to believe that I should be using my Galaxy Nexus SIM, but can anyone else verify? If you have a Galaxy Nexus, recall seeing that the system said the SIM was compatible, and have not activated your Note 3 yet, does your contract end and upgrade eligibility date say October 2015?

Many thanks for any help.

Just checked mine and the upgrade date finally changed to 10/15 like yours.
I'm not going to be much help as far as the sim though, cause I'm in the same boat.
But I think I did actually choose the option for a new sim when I did the upgrade.
It sounded to me like the GNex uses a different size sim than the Note though, so I'm basically wondering the same things as you...

I seem to recall that when going through the online ordering process the system did say that my current SIM was compatible, however, the next screen automatically chose the option to ship a new SIM to me. I couldn't choose an option to keep my existing SIM even though the previous screen said it was compatible. I'm really only concerned because Banggugyangu mentioned that we have to use the SIM that the upgrade is tied to and if we don't then there's a potential that you pay full price and maybe an ETF. I suppose I can call customer service, but I don't want to go through the hassle if I can avoid it.

I JUST WANT MY PHONE!!!!!!!!

I don't have any contacts or info on my sim, so I'm just gonna install the new sim and activate it online like the 1st poster advised and check a few minutes later to see if my unlimited data is still there.

I used Verizon chat and was actually surprised to have a great experience. I ordered during the glitch as well however when mymphone arrived yesterday the receipt showed 2gb plan. I was ready for a fight however they simply checked my order date and confirmed I was within the "glitch". I then activated my phone and they quickly put my unlimited back.

Verizon is kind of weird with their SIM cards. They don't really advise you to swap them, ever. The reason is because they switch your number over to the new SIM in their system and try to make you use backup assistant for contacts/photos/videos etc. My basic understanding is that swapping SIMs will sometimes work, but going through their official phone activation/swap process will always work.

When you were placing your order, you should have gotten interrupted hard by a message stating "Your SIM card is incompatible with this device. In order to upgrade, you will need to purchase a new SIM card which will be shipped with the new device."

The message requires that you click the OK or Cancel button to do anything, so you can't just skip past it. If you don't remember, then you probably didn't get the message, meaning your SIM is probably the same type. I believe it comes down to whether or not you're using a phone with NFC.
