Warning! Currently some ROMs need the cache wiped manually. If you get stuck at the boot animation- wipe cache from the CWM menu

I'm just trying to make everyone's life a little easier. If you're one of the people who prefer to do it manually, Please keep your comments to yourself. Thanks.

I tried the cache wipe, but I encountered an issue where the phone refused to move past the boot ani. It just stuck for for all of 10 minutes. I eventually rebooted into recovery and did the cache wipe manually, after which it booted successfully. Maybe I did something wrong?

What ROM are you using?

I have used all of these with SHOstock3, and Slim Bean with no issue. I actually just used the cache wipe without issue. So I'm going to need more information.

Right now I'm using Sephi's Captivating Rom. I think it's based off of HellyBean
Confirmed it hangs at the boot animation after using the cache wipe. This is ROM related, and likely to happen with all CyanogenMod 10.1 based ROMs. For now the only way around it is to wipe the cache from the CWM menu on these ROMs. I will look for a work around, but likely there may not be any way to fix this on my end.

I'm curious, what exactly does this script wipe that cannot be wiped from CWM Recovery?

Huh. I've always been able to wipe format Preload from Recovery.
I believe there's only one kernel with that option
in CWM. Which makes this a valuable tool, besides being easier and faster when flashing a new ROM.

Easy there, my posts weren't sarcasm, and I haven't flamed you. I was just trying to find out if there really was something the script could do that I couldn't do. Purely academic.
