So "when" should this be used? Between flashing new roms? Or can it be used to clean a rom you are using?

Btw the link is not working

For those saying should be used prior to rom and kernel changing this is slightly true....

When swithing kernels this should be used

When switching roms its NOT nessecary as most roms wipe system folder that holds init.d scripts so this wont do much...

When updating roms on non wipe but rom changes kernel than this should be used... But all devs should wipe when switching kernels and most devs do

shouldn't it be a longer boot when you use these scripts? all of mine seem to have a short boot up time. but if i clear caches manually it takes longer. Just seeing if that means the script isn't being applied properly on my device (skyrocket)

The script shouldn't affect boot up time. Its when you wipe your cache and dalvik, the system has to rebuild folders and whatnot so it takes longer to boot.

Lately whenever I flash a new ROM, my CWM kinda 'breaks.'

I can't mount my SD card, and select key in CWM is the power button instead of the home button. From what little I've found on this forum it seems like a kernal issue. Would flashing this before a new ROM help with that?

are you running siyah kernel by any chance?

I am running Entropy from UnNamed 2.2.1. Whenever I would flash ICScrewD or Doomsday it would break. I believe that has the Siyah kernal. So yeah, I guess.

Edit: Shame on me. I just saw the line in the Siyah thread about all of this. Oh well. My baaaaad.

Is this zip signed? Unable to flash the one posted by Red and the link in OP isn't working correctly. CWM stops the installation on the above.
