Let's face it when all things go wrong yu go running to cwm praying your prayers are answered and usually they are. Recovery gives yu other advanced options like to wipe stuff aswell from which got me thinking why did I think my phone was so safe after installing that antitheft or security software cos if my phone did get stolen all that has to be done is....recovery wipe system fini. So how about some protection for recovery? Since yu can't really access keyboard and that it could be good old fashioned mortal combat style.........up down up down down down up up and............ding god let's yu in. Just a thought :)

I'd say antitheft and security software is there mainly to protect your personal data. I'm not sure burglars will ask you if you have antitheft software before they take your phone.

Is your BIOS password protected on your desktop?

I f no, anybody can boot with a Live CD and do whatever he wants with your computer...

But you can try to join Koush to ask him to add a password protection when launching Recovery.

Even if the BIOS is password protected people can still pop in a live cd... as long as the boot order is cd before HD :) and if someone breaks into your house they will still take the computer... :D

...and they can take the HDD and connect it to other pc and steal you information unless its encrypted :D

But I think tzarp990 is right...at least the theft needs more work to use the phone, no?

I disagree...while wanting to protect your data might be pointless....but in case its stolen most antitheft programs wont survive a clean wipe thus making the ability to track it impossible...so by protecting the recovery with a password and making a rom with the software already in it may improve your chances of getting your phone back..

Nonsense.

If a guy that steal your phone is good enough to determine that you might have a recovery, he would be able also to flash a new recovery, or even to flash a whole stock ROM using Smartflash.

The real problem is access to/data, and to apps settings, and stored passwords. But with a simple ADB connection you can access it.

So the best solution is to have a non-smartphone where you can't put anything.
