still looping on htc screen

---------- Post added at 07:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:52 PM ----------

when you load a file with "adb pushcm11xxx /data/media/0/...
what happened if I do not have the "0" folder??
Same here, also with other ROMs.........

but I've found a way to boot up: once Mini enter in loop you've got to enter Recovery and clear dalvik cache --> switch off --> start up (don't reboot from recovery).
the Mini restarts and upgrade all apps --> you've got your Mini working :laugh: :laugh:

Everyone: sorry for the rocky, bumpy install. I wanted to get this out to you guys early when realistically I should have asked JMZ and FlyHalf205 to update their recoveries to include SELinux first. Since neither of them (not knocking them at all, promise) have submitted them to CWM/TWRP's main site, they didn't get updated automatically. Once that is taken care of, you'll have a large portion of hiccup out of the way.

This build is realistically just an Alpha in my mind, so if you dont think you can swing it due to your DD, then don't fret. I'm still working on fully completing this and getting it into CM like the other devices shown in my signature. This one is just a bit difficult as its the first HTC 8930 I've worked on (and yes, there are differences unlike the 8064 and 8960 devices!). The reason it has taken so much time is that I'm trying to correctly future-proof this device by inserting it into the 8960 kernel (evita/jewel/fireball/ville) which is fully based on CAF....however there are *alot* of HTC differences in the m4 (and the m7 for that matter). I've worked through most of them, but the most horrendous is the audio, which is what held me up for the longest time. Next in line is the camera, then the other pieces just require some more massaging.

You will get a reliable CM11 as soon as possible, just bare with me :).

I second that, cm11 for the mini would be amazing, I couldn't belive how lite it was too. The Alfa I download was I think 200-300mb where as other roms have been 500mb after I've removed everything I know is safe to remove. Really looking forward to this rom thanks for taking the time to do it :)

in addition, once we have a good device tree, plenty of roms should follow ;)

keep up your good work and build something strong and that will last.

I'm in no hurry and didn't mean anything by the can't afford to test this due to it being my daily driver, just a state of fact wasn't a complaint at all. But once you've got it up and running let us know and we will get this looked at.

Can someone please elaborate on the below?

Using twrp I cannot mount /data, if i type or use adb to mount /data it *seems* to work, but i do not have /media/0 which makes me think (I know) I did something incorrectly.

(Unfortunately, you will need to mount /data manually and then go to /data/media/0 to locate the zip files until this recovery gets cleaned up.)

when you load a file with "adb pushcm11xxx /data/media/0/...
what happened if I do not have the "0" folder??
Once I get this up and running I will help test and develop any way I can.

I tried installing this other day failed in twrp and then tried in cwm, error report was a status 7 error which I'm guessing is a update script problem

Yes I also got error "status 7" in CWM, I think this is because the version is too old. In TWRP I get a message it installed but it wont boot. Also in twrp I have all sorts of error messages referring to the mounts.

Sometimes why the Rom won't flash is because of the update script being wrong status 7 maybe a missing file in update script that stopping it flashing

Yeah, this isn't totally ready from what I've seen.

- boot phone into recovery
- install cm-11-20131121-UNOFFICIAL-m4.zip
[clear Dalvik Cache]
- switch off
==> loop

- switch off (very long button press)
- boot phone into recovery (button on + vol down press then vol down to choose recovery)
- clear Dalvik Cache
- switch off (button long press)
- switch on
==> loop :(

extract boot.img from the cm-11-20131121-UNOFFICIAL-m4.zip to the folder of fastboot, reboot phone into fastboot mode and type this command:

Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
