CyanogenMod 11[4.4] UNOFFICIAL NIGHTLIES [11/20]

I'm at wits end. Advice would be nice.
I cannot get data on any 4.4 build.

I have used Phil's and several TWRP versions.
I have wiped everything, and nothing.
I have flashed TW and updated profiles and prl.
I have tried (followed directions) to use APN Backup and Restore. It refuses to work even as a system app.
I am not using ART (shouldn't matter)
I've rebooted and rebooted.

Any 4.3 AOSP works. On Carbon now with no problems.
TW MJA gives me no issues.

I have searched and searched. The only solutions I've seen are reboot and it will work, or APN Backup (which won't work at all for me), or nothing.

Please, anyone have any ideas? I'm begging.

Have you checked the mobile networks settings? I have mine set to cdma+lte/evdo and my data is fine.

I am currently on mf9 running 4.2 . would that all workout or do i need mja. Kinda avoiding 4.3 anything lol

To install this ROM the normal way. You may need the new boot loader. I'm not sure. I know you had to for the mja update
Otherwise you may have to install it by restoring a backup and that's complicated. Modem doesn't matter for this I'm sure.

BTW people shouldn't avoid 4.3 just because of Knox. I mean it trips your Samsung warranty but that may be undone eventually and do you really plan on sending your device to Samsung?

Not planning on sending in just didn't want to restore backup to stock root, unroot, update etc etc. Although I have been thinking I would eventually have to anyway so guess that's the route.

Yeah I suggest you go through all of the mobile settings and tick what would normally be active when its working. Even if a selection is selected. Select something else. Select what it was, then continue. Also if all else fails. Switch to world mode (GSM/EvDo/CDMA/LTE) .


Always reboot after changing those settings. And don't mess with the RUIM/NV option

Hmm that's odd. I can access sdcard1 in every file manager I have including cmfilemanager. By any chance did you do a dirty install?

Yea clean as possible ..I did a factory reset and everything...I am still on mf9 baseband I don't know if that has anything to do with it...

I've done all that. I've rebooted so many times i see the boot animation in my sleep. All this I've done on 2 CM 11 builds and Gummy.
Please don't take this as a smart ass remark, but this isn't my first flash.

I've even checked on towers signal strength using my tab and wife One.

WiFi works. Hell I even talked for half an hour to my mother when she called while I was trying to access APNs. They're there, but data just won't connect. I sat it down and waited for an hour, nothing. Flash 4.3 (or restore backup) and I get data instantly.

Tried all settings, reboot. Nothing. I've tried toggling data and airplane modes....nothing.

If this keeps up I may throw this damn thing. My luck it'll get stuck in a wall and THEN get data.

However, did you OTA to MJA?

Afterwards successfully flashed sac, carbon, and octo, also Odin modem when this all started...twice. Used official cable, etc.

Went back to stock rooted onice to update profiles. From there no problems going to carbon or octo.

Not so much that was wondering about your boot loader and baseband. Yeah tell me what your baseband is

Figured. So this is the only time I've heard of this happening to someone so its hard to figure out. I used to get a problem like this. To fix it I had to hit system roaming select and choose automatic. Don't change anything else and reboot. Besides that I'd say give it a couple days and see if something comes up on gerrit

EDIT: seems like a pretty big update tonight on CM's side, we'll see. just started the build

I noticed when trying to restore settings using APN backup that it only restored some of my apns and not all. My advice would be to restore to a another ROM with working data and write down or screenshot what you have and then go back and recheck your apns and modify if needed.

You can try updating your APN settings.

The auto brightness while am outside ...sucks ..I can't see anything on my screen what's so ever ..I have to turn the brightness all the way up can u look into that
