I think it has something to do with some of latest google android updates, hard to believe that all of the negative reports on the play are from custom roms. But yeah maybe, we shall see which fixes it, rom update or app update.

Senors bug since october builds!?

Found a bug in recent CM11 builds < Oct. 2014 back.

So since CM11 do not change much anymore I just occasionally change to new nighlies:

But Sensors do not work for (both kernels: cm11 kernel & f4k 1.6.5)
2014_10_28 (here I found the bug after 4 weeks)
2014_11_29 (not all sensors working)
- hard reseted, 1 day on cm12, hard reseted, back to cm11 -
2014_12_05 (not all sensors working)

Affected Sensors not working:
- Linear Acceleration Sensor
- Gravity Sensor
- Rotation Vector Sensor
- Orientation Sensor
- others work (so more common ones, e.g. compass, screen rotation)

Tested apps:
- Sensor List
- Advanced tools (also 'restet' did not helped)
- CPu-Z
- Sensor Readout
- z-device test

I can confirm, that the above mentioned sensors worked on i9195 in-between spring (before unstable) and late summer (bug?)

Actions:
- who can confirm bug?
- some other tricks? E.g. "heating trick" as in old s2 times?
- Can somebody tell which is the 'latest' CM11 build in which ALL sensors of out i9195 are working?
@arco68: Are you aware of this bug?

cheers and thanks in advance!

I checked with Droid Hardware Info and for me all sensors work into last nightly (cm-11-20141205-NIGHTLY-serranoltexx.zip).

****. since several ROMs and wipes in between, this just implies that I have HW faults on my device.
had this once with h my s2 there heating (dangerous and known HW bug on s2) helped... but since here other phone... it's simply Brocken.
thanks for your reply!

thanks. i know the trick that the sensors partly need time and movements. ... no use here ... seems the broke. tried everything
Remove external sdcard. Full wipe, only flash the latest full nightly which you download from get.cm. Test sensors, with the app someone suggested above or with cpu-z.
Report back.
Also have you flashed something else like modem or gone back to stock rom, especially stock kitkat after you had used custom roms?

sorry short in time these Weeks. don't have time for that (working 14x 7).,
but thanks for your replies. I have to life with that. one thig I tried without wasting to much time: fix permission, use original (non hamd tuned) GPS.conf, and build.prop.... also did not helped. I'm 99% sure I live with broken sensors

Note from OP

Hello and farewell all, I'm moving on from s4 mini and pretty much away from CM too. Got galaxy alpha for half price (295€) and it has exynos chipset, so roms are rare for that and other reasons.

If someone wants to take over this thread, I can ask the mods if it's possible. Although cm11 is basically now "dead" on the development side.
I won't be keeping this thread's first post up to date or help with the issues, since I can't test them myself anymore. (the basic issues can be usually solved by full wipe etc.)

Thanks all! :good:
