Y0 guys, this is NOT my build, but here is a topic for the official nightlies.

I'm not developing this, just an open topic for it. :good:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KK), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*
* Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
* cause of male impotence.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Get Cyanogenmod11 for our device from:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=n7100
Get the GAPPS from
https://goo.im/gapps/ or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Installation:
- Wipe Factory Reset (data/system/cache)
- Flash CM11 latest nightly
- Flash GAPPS
- Clear Dalvik-Cache
- Enjoy \o/
I'm glad to see a dedicated thread to a great rom but I think you should put the link to the official gapps from google and as an alternative to Banks Gapps.. else, we all know about Xposed, isn't necessary mix things up.
Ps. some screenshots would be good..
Does anyone know why we don't have nightlies like… every night? The last rom is dated from april 28th.
Greetz!
there are nightlies more or less every night with a few exceptions. such exceptions ( failded builds etc. ) happen for all devices
and during the last week of the month CM is forking for M-builds so they have perhaps a day or two with other priorities.
however, as mentioned, nightlies are coming and are usually full of commits so if you go an see omni where were no commits
for a week at least and pac ? they did not even update their website yet. so CM at the moment is the fastest developing and
most stable rom for this device IMHO
enjoy even more and complain a bit less JK :)
Just out of curiosity - are you using stock kernel with CM11? And which Xposed modules are you using?
depends :)
i'm using cm kernel on n7100 since the available custom kernels for that device are giving me too often a headache and
there is nothing important to tweak for me there which does not work well on cm's kernel.
on the other hand i'm most of the time going with elementalX kernel on the nexus 5 and with franco's on the nexus 4
because i need the color tweaks on those devices. sometimes i slightly overclock but that's not giving me any
wow experience over stock settings. what is helpful is fast-charge in it's variations, specially on the motorbike
with navi, bluetooth music, radardroid and sceen on at all times but these are very individual needs.
so in short, i'm happy with the cm kernel on n7100 after having tried all available custom kernels and i would
not really like my nexuses with their stock display colors.
as to the xposed modules:
- appsettings for per app dpi change and more
- xblast for sticking "custom boot animation", bluetooth tweak,
..lock screen rotation, rare build.prop tweaks etc. just to name some of the unique specials
- greenify for it's obvious purpose to greenify system apps etc.
- android tuner to tune almost every aspect of the device, it's so much that you have to read for yourself.
- sometimes gravitybox, i change between xblast and gbox since depending on cm's habit to break things
..from time to time one or the other works a bit better until both are updated after such events and xbox
..can make my custom boot animation stick upon flashing cm updates.
on the note 2 i'm on latest nightlies and on the nexus 5 i'm on M5
I thought it deserved it's own topique ;)
Any body have any issues with swyping or gesture typing with built in keyboard ?
Yep, i've had that since the first CM11 build from ThdDude.
At first i couldn't even use Swype (from Nuance), that works now though.
Battery
I know the question of battery with TW vs CM has been discussed over and over but I thought I would ask again:
In the last 4 or 5 days I have tried a couple of non TW ROMs ( mainly because I have found that the Camera now lets me import pics / deposits of checks into my banking apps :good: where for the longest time the non TW ROMs were not allowing this :D )
I have found some weird battery issues. With the first ROM I tried the battery seemed ok but then all of sudden I started getting bursts of drain where the phone would get a bit hot and drain 20% in a 30 minutes or so (while screen off, btw ). I was using AGNI kernel.
So for the last 24 hrs or so I have been trying the CM11 official (here). Phone off charger at 6:30 AM and already down to 80% battery by 8:30 AM - no specific wakelocks and very little use. I'm on the stock kernel now.
From your experience are the CM ROMs still significantly worse on battery (vs TW ROMs) ? do they settle down more after a few days use ? are most using stock kernel or custom ? (thanks @magnamentis for sharing experience already)
hi, i see you ask a lot of questions which is good, finally this is what this is all about.
i just recognized that you very sparsely if ever use the thanks button for those who take the effort to answer you and
sooner or later this will show to your disadvantage.
i write this because i just did not feel like answering after i recognized that fact and there will be others. it's about motivation and good style you know
No worries - I'm not sure why you feel compelled to give a lesson etiquette for this forum. I always thank someone if they have helped but I don;t think the thanks button is to be used merely because someone replies to a question or comment. But if it that big a deal to you to gain thanks count I will try to go in each day and find one of your posts and click the thanks button so you will get what you seek.
Edit
Please notice @magnamentis that I have used all of my thanks for today for YOU !!!! THANK YOU for a reply that btw was not particularly helpful to me OR the forum
