i downloaded the cwm 3.0.0.8 zip file and acording a video on youtube all i have to do is to use the root explorer, rename the recovery from the bin folder and copy there the one i downloaded... so far so good but when i go onto the recovery mode y select the backup/restore option it shows me a buch of errors "E: cant mount cache/partition" and cant open the same path... the thing is that the .zip i downloaded with the recovery has like 4 folders "META-inf" "sbin" "res" "etc"... im new in this whole thing :S please be patient with me...
I think that is wrong recovery. Try this. http://www.mediafire.com/?6x5utoca59et7o9. Thank droidstyle for keeping link alive.

Tried 7.2 RC1 yesterday to see if it was worth any attention on my part. Decision.... No. Sorry guys its no where near as pretty or snappy as ICS.
agree to this, I keep the zip on my phone and use it to get out of bootloops on ics but the few times I've had to use it I always think it's slow and ugly compared to ics.

7.2

I downloaded 7.2 earlier this week. Its not bad but not great. The ringer volume is way too low on the phone. And for some reason sending and receiving MMS messages takes "forever" like literally hours each way. That definitely needs to get fixed. I think I'm ready to move on or just got to stable 7.1. What ICS ROM is everyone using? Any major issues?

Aokp is prolly the most popular, THS and the CM9 kangs are Polly next. Gummy is nice too. No major issues with any of them. All fast all have good features. Try them all.. lol

Well, I think I bricked my phone...

It sounded like the CM9 Kangs are even better than CM7 so I tried to flash the rom (via clockwork recovery) and now the thing is stuck in a boot loop. The Kang Unicorn image keeps flashing. I let it sit for a good 20 minutes before it started to get hot.

I went back to Clockwork recovery (v. 4.0.1.0) and tried to re-flash CM 7.2 RC1 but I get errors

E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

Is there a way to use Heimdall to flash CM 7.2 RC1 and having a working device again?
