They did atleast for the european model. Both on facebook and their forum they stated end of february/beggining of march for the mini.

Hey, there seems to be a possible method of obtaining root without actually unlocking the bootloader. It involves of temporarily flashing twrp and from twrp flashing supersu. The only problem is that there's no twrp image available for mini. It seems that we might even be able to unlock the bootloader from this method. Check this out:

Has there been any movement on the sound problems associated with Lineage yet? I know that the mini owners have been patiently (no choice...lol) for the opportunity to really make this phone what it should have always been with the cool hardware! Thanks for all you do sir and i'm looking forward to seeing your handiwork for myself and donating to the cause!

Nope sound may or may not be distorted like the the big Axon 7. We are working with ZTE to get info on how to fix it though. Just waiting on my device and the N update for you all.Hope this is the beginning of me loving my mini as opposed to just really liking the hardware.

Man, that is great news and very much appreciated. Glad that we have someone like you in the community and don't have to wait for ZTE to do something(Nougat). Of course they have bigger fish to fry than the Mini. Haven't even heard of testing Nougat for the Mini yet with all the bugs in Big Brother.

Typically beta testers receive a separate device. But if they qualify your personal device no you can always leave beta testing. The thing about it though is you may sign a NDA and you aren't suppose to share any info.

Well, I would say so,since UnjustifiedDev says he is waiting for ZTE to release Nougat for the mini and then i would guess it happens soon thereafter. I certainly hope so,since i hate Mifavor and it's bugs.
There's no spare devices at the moment. Technically I'm just waiting on a device I can obtain a build of N to work with from the R&D team as well as the kernel source to do the bring up. Not sure if anyone wants to provide a device or not I was going to wait on ZTE. Bootloader unlock etc will come as soon as I can obtain one. For now they don't see a community large enough to provide such things. Not enough request are being made 10-20 people isn't enough to make things happen.

Not enough cause they had to be faster to build a larger base community, if they give us a unlocked bootloader things will change for sure
Sounds like we may have to crank up the machine from this side and see if we can raise the funds to get a device to you. If we can raise the funding for the device for you,WILL Zte provide the source kernel and support needed to do what you need to do or will they stonewall you due to " not enough people own the device"?
I may be able to reuse a lot of what we've done on the axon 7 especially for the audio. Of course there's no definite answer the axon 7 and axon 7 mini have different dev teams.
