The op link refers to download the d2lte instead of the d2spr. I noticed the d2lte is more updated than the d2spr but I haven't been around since MD4 so want to ensure I won't have problems with the d2lte on our d2spr devices. I tried searching this thread for the answer but didn't find it if it is already answered!

Yes use d2lte. Sprint is one of the d2lte phones. D2lte is just about all of the u.s. s3's. Same with Roms, use d2spr or d2lte.

with this recovery, SD card i s not detected. The problem is same with the TWRP too. Does anyone have a work around.
It's not the Recovery. Check your SD Card. Your SD Card could be corrupt, or possibly damaged. You can try formatting the SD Card. It may resolve the issue, and might save the SD Card. I would suggest using SD Formatter.

it is not the problem with the SD card or path. The same problem is reported here . This happens with the new phones.

Those patches were applied long ago. And we've gone up a version of the Android OS since then. Look at the date on the thread. So the problem is your SD or your installation of the recovery. There are numerous users on both the L710T and L710 using Philz Recovery (over 10,000 total downloads) and I've never heard anybody having this issue. Backup your SD to your PC (hopefully it can read it) format it and then put your stuff back on and try again. Which version of the recovery are you using? How did you install it (Odin, flashed through another recovery, etc)? What phone model do you have?

i was installing the recovery thru Odin. I used two SD cards and the problem is the same with new version of TWRP or Philz but when using the recovery in the post i mention the phone was able to recognize the partition. May i will try with another SD this weekend but i hardly believe it may work

Twrp won't read on the VM or boost versions (except octos build of Twrp) but official philz 6.48.4 will work fine. Make sure its the most recent.

i tried a different 16 GB SD card and it worked (previously i was using 32 GB, not sure the problem was with the card capacity) .

Thanks for all your help!!!

I haven't been able to readily find the answer, so it's probably a negative.

Can recovery be flashed via PhilZ recovery? ie use PhilZ to flash TWRP?
Seems the answer is yes but I may need recovery as a .zip rather than just the .IMG format . So I downloaded an old twrp flash able zip and re-archived the file (minus the old recovery) with the new recovery.img . Lol, good times, I think this should work
