THESE ZIPS WILL BE UPDATED as new firmware comes available
This will not Re-Lock or Unlock your bootloader (Meaning this will work on either locked or unlocked bootloaders)

What you need:
Root & Recovery on KitKat or Lollipop
A Brain
One of the ZIP files (Latest are better)

~Latest Zips~
D5833 23.5.A.1.291 (6.0.1) ~~D5803 23.5.A.1.291 (6.0.1)

~~UPDATE: If you wish to update to a new pre-rooted zip just download the ZIP and flash over your old pre-rooted firmware, no need to wipe anything

ANDROID MM INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Have a rooted firmware with recovery installed
  2. Download one of the ZIP's and move it to the SDCard of your phone
  3. Enter Recovery and make a full nandroid backup if you have not already (you can restore this later if anything happens)
  4. Wipe System, delvik, and Cache, DO NOT REBOOT, flash the Zip & then Reboot (It will take a while to reboot as it is updating everything, also you will be wiping 'System' to stop any errors caused by previous TWRP versions)
  5. Enjoy :)

INSTRUCTIONS

  2. Download one of the ZIP's and move it to the SDCard of your phone

Can I use this ROM on my D5803?

Yep :) - If you flash the D5833 I am pretty sure it will also flash your baseband, If you flash the D5803 zip i am uploading it will not flash your baseband
If your mobile data stops working after flashing D5833 just flash D5803 baseband with flashtool.
Other than that should work fine

So long story short. If you're already on pre-rooted stock 5 firmware, you just flash the new one over the old, right?

Hi

Thank you for your work.
Yep the 23.1.A.1.28 has no baseband or Ta partition, so you can flash it, I have a D5833 phone running D5803 A.1.28

So long story short. If you're already on pre-rooted stock 5 firmware, you just flash the new one over the old, right?
Yep just flash the new zip over your old one, no need to wipe data or anything

Turns out the newest FW for D5833 is 23.2.A.1.62 / R8C, customized Hong Kong.
The date of the kernel is Apr 20 as opposed to Mar 30 of .28 FW, so it would be great if you could upload this one instead of the .28 SG.
Thank you for all you've done.
In the mean time you can flash the new universal ZIP, but i will upload it under OLD/Device Specific

    Android 6 Zip Released!

WIth full TWRP recovery and SuperSU
Xposed is not pre installed with the D5803 release (May be included in the D5833), however you can download the xposed zips from the attached files in this post.
Edit: Xposed does not like being installed at the same time as a Pre-Rooted firmware, so you will have to install it manually.
Xposed is inside the latest D5833 0.570 zip, however it does not install.

Thanks @Bartekreaper and @fijasko for the links :)

    TLDR at the bottom

I flashed the latest Marshmallow on my D5833 (no wipes) from 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Seemed to go OK, but after reboot I no longer had Xposed.
Tried to reboot to recovery to flash it again, but could not. Trying to reboot to recovery from the OS did a normal reboot and using the volume buttons did nodthing.
I downloaded the latest Dual Recovery and launched the install.bat, which seemed to go OK and rebooted the phone.
I was then stuck in boot loop (sony logo only)
Downloaded an FTF and flashed it using FlashTools.
Rooted it, installed Dual Recovery and restored my latest backup.
Did the upgrade again, but this time flashed the Dual Recoveries ZIP before the final reboot to system, with the same result.
I finally did the whole FTF, root, recoveries, flash update thing, but this time I flashed Xposed before the final reboot.

That worked, but now I have Marshmallow with Xposed, but I don't have any custom recovery, which makes me nervous because
I can't do a nandroid backup and won't be able to flash anything in the future.

TLDR: Has anyone else lost their custom recovery (Nut's XZDualRecovery) after updating? Trying to reinstall it (flash or install script) puts me in a Sony logo bootloop. Is XZDualRecovery incompatible with Marshmallow? Which custom recovery works with MM and how to install it without a custom recovery?

    Hey there!

XZDR is currently non functional with MM, that is why my latest zips use TWRP 3.0.2 and not Dual recovery.
