I'm following this with interest...

I have an xtrons PB80UNV running the standard firmware that it came with, and fairly regularly when starting dab-z it fails to find the USB device - it tries 5 times (I think) and then says 'no dab usb device' and closes.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, there doesn't seem to be any pattern. If I hard reset the unit it all works fine. Until next time....

Depends on your unit, of course, on my Android 9/10 KSW SnapDragon unit (not in the Android specific settings): Factory Settings, Function, USB-Host.

Thanks. There's nothing in my factory settings for USB host. When I type in my pass code at factory settings, there's a ton of settings arranged in tabs but no USB Host settings as far as I can see. Think this is the XTRONS skin on top of Android 8. I'd read that there's an XML file I can look for in protected folders to indicate USB host being set but think it's protected and only accessible while USB debugging, which seems tricky. Any other ideas? Getting close to doing a factory reset but not keen to have to the install all the other apps all over again.

I sending some information to "Service Following"
1. After SF, information about the original channel 12C will remain on the information screen, see figure. I'm in an area where there is no "12C" signal and auto-tuning to "12D" has taken place.
2. In the event of a signal failure, "SF" often does not turn on automatically to retune the station to another frequency. I have to go to DAB-Z and run "SF" manually. in Settings I have "sensitivity - 9"
3. See point 2. I would like to ask you if the information on "automatic scanning" could be reported in the field "Text Dinamic Label Segment DLS", I would also have the information in "Car Launcher"

Just for closure, and to offer many thanks for all the suggestions and help given in this thread, my DAB is now working again!

Turns out the original problem was a broken USB connector in the original XTRONS USBDAB01 dongle.

The secondary problem was that the new USBDAB03 dongle from XTRONS has too high a power requirement to allow it to be powered from the XTRONS head unit's USB socket (and I could find a suitable/convenient powered hub set up to mitigate / test that).

Managed to get XTRONS customer service to suggest strongly enough that the USBDAB03 power requirement might be too much for the socket and send that to the retailer who agreed to provide an older model USBDAB01 dongle, which works perfectly!

Many thanks for all the help; if nothing else I've learned more about USB configuration and have now updated my DAB Z app version which is an improvement over the version I had been running. All good!

hello, the following service does not work. I just downloaded the latest version 1.9.117 on an android 11 unit, Snapdragon 662, the app works fine but when I click on the SF symbol next to the station list, a window pops up and says: Service following currently not possible! I previously used a Pure Highway 400 usb adapter which worked perfectly in following service. Do you have an idea ? Excuse me for my English.. Hervé

Hello, the receiver is the Neotone DRB-100X GEN3, the latest generation. I was in Switzerland yesterday and the SF function was working! I specify that I usually live in France. All the French transmitters would be in question? Technically, how do the usb dab adapters that I used previously work? (Pure highway 400). Do they have a "service following" function or do they proceed differently? Finally, I use a company car equipped with a dab plus receiver which works perfectly in frequency following when I travel. (Renault Zoé). Are there any other technical solutions for memorizing the list of alternative transmitters of the same multiplex?What is the use of the dablib.so function, I have not found any clear explanations! @HMT06 Technically it is difficult to compare your previous Pure highway 400 (all-in standalone DAB receiver with UI) with the setup now (Android Head Unit, "Neotone" DAB USB tuner, DAB-Z Android App).
Service Following is a software feature, not a hardware (=tuner) feature.
I am happy to look at the issue you face with DAB-Z and Service Following using the Neotone DAB USB adapter in France. I am located in Bavaria, Germany. So I cannot test this myself.
Since you wrote that in Switzerland, SF was working, but in France not, I suspect some "incompatibility" of DAB-Z with the French station(s).
To allow me to reproduce the issue without me travelling to France, I would need you to:
1. Create a socalled "raw recording" (see post #1, option b) of when you change to a station, which you know will change the SF icon to green. Let the station play for ~3 minutes. Then revert the changes you made.
2. Send the .raw files to me (lookup my email address in my profile under "Paypal Donation Email").

Hello, thank you for taking the time to answer me. In the meantime, I had some answers. According to the European standard ETSI TS 103 176 v2.4.5, on the broadcasting of dab plus in Europe, an optional function of digital broadcasting of the signal SF, following service, is provided. This service, mainly broadcast by European dab transmitters, does not seem to be broadcast by French transmitters, even those with a national vocation! This problem therefore seems to have no solution for your dab-z software unless you modify its operation by providing an automatic scan of the Sid of the station listened to in the absence of a mobile signal. Is it possible ?

In addition to my previous message, attached is a screenshot where we see that the Swiss transmitter 12 A transmits the following service, the French transmitters whose national radio RTL does not transmit anything.

I misinterpreted your initial post. I thought your SF icon was green. Now I see it is grey!
No, it makes no sense for me to try to guess from other information if a certain other station could be a candidate for Service Following. There is simply no reliable solution to do so.

Hello, I specify that the screenshot was made at home far from Switzerland. The SF icône lights up green when i am in the reception area or these Swiss transmitters . I Will respond To your request as soon as I am in a suitable reception area. Yesterday evening, I droite To thé CSA , the french authority which manages radio an television to inform them or the particularity of our dab transmitters which do not transmit these frequency tracking data as thé europeen standart neverless provides. But France is very late in rolling out the dab plus.

Hello,
Since the latest updates it is impossible to remove unwanted radio stations. After removal, these are visible again 1 minute later.
In a few versions ago it was possible to delete unwanted radio stations.
Have already done a complete uninstall, but the problem persists.
Use HU with android 6.1 version.
Someone else same problem?

Do the stations, which reappear after being deleted, have the SF icon next to the name in the station list? If yes, then this is a side-effect of SF.
Are you not using the favorites list? This list you have under full control: Content and also the order of the stations.

HI all, been using this app for a while and had to re-install the app and now the the app cant find any station logos where before it did. It tries to search and gets to 50% and jumps straight to the app screen. I have no issues with the 70+ DAB stations if found .TIA

I have tried some versions and with version v1.8.96 the deleted radio stations remain from the channel list and really disappear in the trash.
