Download the black theme from the theme store. It's free and makes all the white black. Drop down, messages, etc. Your nova icons and everything else stys the same.

can you share "the black theme name"? there are many in the theme store. I'm using Samsung's Good Lock app, which gives System UI similar to stock android. one drawback is that AOD email, text msg icons, etc., will not appear on the AOD screen.

I am using BlackOn_MINDON from samsung theme store. It's like a dark gray and grayish blue accents.

Sorry but that is false.

You can NOT argue with physics. Black screens save power because that is inherent to AMOLED design.

There is no backlight therefore the pixels themselves consume power to emit light.

Now your S7 Edge has 100mAh more than my Note 7 and lacks features like S Pen, Iris Scanner etc therefore it will get a bit longer battery life.

Goodlock is a great choice as well. You need to download the apk from APK Mirror but you have the option of setting all of you notifications dark or light. Plus it gives your entire statusbar a vanilla android look.
