Data drops on AOSP Roms

Recently, to try something different than viper, I downloaded an aosp based Rom to try out. At first it was great, but then I noticed my data would always drop, sometimes never connect. I was on 3.22 firmware and now on 3.57 and still after several different roms, data drops frequently. My data works great on all sense based roms. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I suggest to swap radios (firmware) if you are S-ON.
On the other hand, I recall that some AOSP kernels have issues with data connectivity - maybe you can try different AOSP kernels first to see if there is a change.
