I am sure this throttle folder is like the "relay contacts" acted on by an account setting of some kind.

The hack works on my Dx2. It is like I am on wifi. My speeds have doubled at least, 4x at most.

I have UL data BTW.

Any one have this folder on their D3? Just fishing.:p

Yes, do speed test, then the hack. The files should have a few bytes. Follow the post exactly.
Root Explorer or File Expert (free)work well.

I did it and report a 3x increase in both download and upload speeds. even though they're both still a paltry 600kbs/sec haha. But at those speeds anything is appreciated ^_^ thanks for the post

Was very skeptical about this at first, because we had things like this on the DInc that didn't do anything.

But I can confirm this actually does something.

Before this, my down was 0.25-0.40mbps and up was 0.40-0.50mbps.
After, my down is 1.30-1.50mbps and up is 0.80-1.10mbps.

Tested before 5 times with speedtest.net app, tested after 5 times with speedtest.net app.

So, I ran this mod, even though I was gettting 2.2mb down and 0.7 up, and now, im down to 0.6 down and 0.5 up. Also, my phones temp has dramatically increased. From a normal running temp of 29 degrees to 38 degrees.

sent from my MONSTERDroid3 from the XDA app

I could be that limited data plans are treated differently from UL plans and your nearest tower may be the limiting factor.

No matter what your results are please post your data plan and location if you do not mind.

first gotta run the speedtest - then will give it a shot (sorry about the stupid post - need 10 to post in dev forums)

did you guys just delete the .bak files that were created after editing the relevant files?

no noticeable difference really. the average download speed was about 100k faster due to one aberrational speedtest where i got like 2.5 down
