No need to root. Just enable USB Debugging in Developer Options and make sure USB Debugging is on when you plug your phone to the PC. You can check this in the notification area when you pull it down.

No version 3 ; But these are the ones i disabled for 9.1 and my phone still works well. Just make sure to install a separate keyboard first.

Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.calendar

For more info on what each package is, you can refer to this file. Also, do this at your own risk.

@Zephels (side note unrelated to this thread) are you bootloader unlocked?

Unfortunately no. I bought my Mate 20 X after Huawei decided to relock the bootloader, so i could not obtain the codes :(
Not disappointed though, since a lot can still be done via adb.
do you have global or chinese version and which would you recommend ?

Is this both for the global and chinese versions? Does one have more bloat than the other?

I'm thinking of getting a 20 X (global version) but the process of debloating is kind of scaring me as I'm very new to this stuff. At the same time I don't want to miss out on the extra performance that comes with debloating.

I'm assuming that updating to 10 means all the crap will get added back, and we need to go through the process again?

Or does stuff that was removed (and would have been updated) not get added back in?

Florida unfortunately.
I didn't use the script. I manually uninstalled lots of junk. I was amazed how much battery life was improved. It was mainly the Huawei apps that gobble the battery.
Can you list the Huawei apps that you uninstalled please?
I've removed "essential app" and "app assistant" so far on the Huawei software side.
