How To Guide Debloat LISTS - S22 Ultra Series

Search This thread
i traded one in for this s22 ultra and arill have an immaculate silver note7 as a backup (as no one will take it back, i was abroad for a few months with a crappy unlocked phone when recall hit) perfect size note!
Not sure where you are at.... The US carriers made them all non-functional back then (2017) I traded an old S7 that had been hanging around and a Note 10+ on my S22U.

my then gf left them turned off, we had split while i was abroad, i made sure to disable all updates once carrier/retailer/samsung all told me to get lost.

So i kept them. One got smashed to crap a bit back, traded it in on the s22 Ultra 512GB via att's 'any galaxy, any condition' promo.

both still worked and charged to 100%, I used both for the last 5 yrs.

Still have the silver immaculate one...

well, he wrote that once he has some more time that he will organize the apps and give some more instructions.
Hey guys, but of a work/travel emergency and had to also reset my phone, i found i could not make calls (...turned out to be a carrier-side provisioning problem, so needless factory reset...)... So i'm restarting from scratch.

My girlfriend gets hers in 2 days, same carrier/model so ill be cautious and update once i have both of ours completely set up and tested.

The optimizations/debloat and misc options were yielding approximately 46 hours with 10hrs of that being SOT using Youtube Vanced, Music, screencasting stuff, some light gaming to test including emulators, and mostly OFF wifi, so about 2 days of decent usage.

Power Save, 720p+, and 60hz fixed, with gaming at higher specs.

Im kinda bummed i had to reset and start over, but i also have 4 other S22 series phones to optimize and test for my business/family, all SD ATT units.

Im currently reworking the list and eill post up again shortly, updating the anchor post, with descriptions.

Its a massive difference, even for the lower regular S22. I am surprised that even on medium signal strength 4G LTE these do not burn much battery, about the same as weak wifi...

Ill post up here and in anchor post once list had been rebuilt, clarified, and optimized.

There are also some sleep/deep sleep and other tweaks ill list as optional.

Cheers!

Thanks in advance.

My split screen no longer works. I must of debloated something that's stopped it work.

Does anyone know which services control split screen?

im a newbie to debloating and adb last night was my first time, i was very careful in everything i deleted but i accidentally deleted themes and wallpaper services which is the dynamic lock screen, it is saved as an apk on the adb app control app but when i click to install again it says installed 0/1 app and nothing happens, any idea what i could be doing wrong?

I debloated everything in the list provided by OP, screen refresh is capped at 60Hz, most apps are in the deep sleep mode, power save is on, display is set to HD+(lowes), nothing is always on, auto sync is off, processing speed is optimized, adaptive battery on...

And I hardly notice any difference.
Wut?

Hey everyone, figure i start a thread on apps/etc that can be safely disabled, so that we can dial on on removing needless junk from our phones.

I am currently running a Snapdragon S22 Ultra, SM-S908U 512GB (AT&T variant) so my list may vary versus other Snapdragon variants.

LIST BELOW, this is for SnapDragon users. There are some AT&T apps other Snapdragon uses will not have, each carrier has their own bloatware added. I may have missed a few or have a few added you may not have.

If you own a Verizon, T-Mobile, or Unlocked S22 Ultra, please PM me with a list of your running processes and i will attempt to create a minimalist list for each Snapdragon variant.

This is a work in progress; your feedback helps, as does that of any others with more experience or knowledge to share!

Your battery life will differ from mine depending on your preferences.

I have battery saving on, 70% max CPU speed on, 720p, fixed 60hz, 85% max charge, and some other misc tweaks i would be happy to share. I will update this post with all settings maxxed out in a few days (by end of March)

    Instructions
Use ADB AppControl for ease of use, and simply create a text file in your ADB AppControl/presets folder and copy these entries and save as txt.
Enable USB debugging on your S22 Ultra
Load up ADB AppControl, on PC, connect S22 Ultra and connect in 'Cable Charging' mode.
Follow instructions to correctly connect your S22 Ultra (easy walkthrough, only needs to be done once)
Once connected properly, hit 'Load Preset' and load the txt file you made
Click dropdown in bottom right and hit APPLY

This list DISABLES Chrome, Google Assistant, DeX, Edge screen, ALL AT&T crap, ALL gaming related crap, PenUP, S-health, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and some other minor 'features'. All are easily restored and i will separate this list with descriptors in a few days.

Those lists are pretty aggressive and remove tons of features folks might use. Folks, don't just blindly use those without checking and knowing what you're removing. :)

Here is a good list that I found, on the s21 ultra forums:

This guy also has a thread on how to do an aggressive debloat and some settings to use to crank up battery life.

Here's a full list of Samsung system apps that tells you the package name, what it does, and if it is safe to remove so you can decide for yourself. I don't remember who shared this but I saved it.
