Hi, I have managed to debrand my Lumia 820. I used translation from some italian site i have found back then. I don't know how to find that site but i have saved translation. Here it goes:

The OTA update has not arrived yet, but on the server NOKIA upgrade to Portico is present. The following guide is meant to run in one breath the flash and debrand a Nokia Lumia 920, but with the necessary modifications can be adapted to all Nokia and also update 7.8.

First, download the following file:

1. NaviFirmPlus 1.7
2. Nokia_Care_Suite_5.0_2012.45.4.5

To find GIYF!
NaviFirm Unzip to a directory of your choice and install Nokia_Care_Suite_5.0_2012.45.4.5

Afterwards, we must first of all with the NaviFirm:
1. Run executable NaviFirmPlus
2. Products under window scroll down to Nokia Lumia 920 (RM-821)!
3. Below the window choose 1231.5951.1249.1001 Releases
4. Variants under the window to choose your color, in my case BLACK (RM-821_CV_IT_VAR261946_Black_v2_LTE enabled_Black (059Q9W5)
5. Under the Files window to make sure that all files are selected.
6. Click the Download button
7. Wait until all the files are completely downloaded the file FFU will be approximately 1.31GB.
8. When finished, select: C: \ ProgramData \ Nokia \ Packages
9. Create a folder named Products
10. Create a folder named rm-821
11. You should now have a directory like this: C: \ ProgramData \ Nokia \ Packages \ Products \ rm-821 \
12. Navigate to the folder of NaviFirmPlus
13. FW Open the folder and then the folder of the downloaded firmware.
14. Copy the entire contents of the folder and paste it in the folder C: \ ProgramData \ Nokia \ Packages \ Products \ rm-821 \.

NaviFirm

After installing Nokia Care Suite:
1. Start Nokia Care Suite
2. Click Product Support Tool For Store 5.0
3. Click on File
4. Click Open product
5. Choose RM-821 (Nokia Lumia 920)
6. Click on Programming
7. Click Recovery
8. You should see the firmware that you downloaded and copied earlier in the Properties field.
9. Click Start
10. The software will not find the phone, and ask you to restart and click Retry.

prodsupporttool

Directions Phone:
1. Connect your phone to PC
2. Keep the volume down and the power button, click Retry in the pop up window
3. After hearing a vibration in the phone immediately release the volume button and the power button and hold the Volume Up key.
4. Continue to hold the Volume Up button.
5. After about 15 seconds you see the Nokia logo and the software will

Just a quick question. When you debranded your phone, did it unlock the sim to a different network?
My partners got the 820 locked on t mobile but wants it unlocked. I've done it with galaxy s2 by using a different firmware and also by using simunlock but so far not found a way of unlocking the 820 and as I have not played about with 1 before I'm researching possibilities to unlock it from t mobile even if it means flashing o2 firmware onto it

Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium

My phone was SIM unlocked but branded (had operator logo and apps but it could use any SIM card). I think that this method doesn't affect SIM lock, it will remain locked after flashing

Sorry to bump this thread, but since the amber update has been leaked, I have been trying to debrand my AT&T 820. So far I have not had any luck. When I try to flash in NCS, it gives me an error (FFU not for this device) - I've tried about 10 different ROMs, both amber and other.

Has anyone had success with this yet?

I've been trying to debrand my AT&T Lumia 820 myself with no success. I wonder if it has been done before?

I've been trying to debrand my AT&T Lumia 820 with no success too. It's beacuse our product code. Our phone is RM-824 with 059M0F3 product code. We can't install FW with another product code. We need to change our phone's product code, but I don't know how! We need a solution for this.

product code

hello, i've tried to debrand my at&t lumia 820, the problem remains at the product code, you can't install diferent product code, but lumia 920's users have done it by flashing pre portico rom from rogers, seems that there is a bug there? idk but i want to debrand my lumia and it's already unlocked so at&t holds me and haven't seen any update:confused::confused:

Unbrand vodafone italy 820

Hello all,

I have a unlocked 820 but branded with a vodofone italy rom, datasense is not given by vodafone so i want a "belgium" / "NL" version on it.
Now i have checked the list with available roms and downloaded all software to flash it but i dont seem to find a "unlocked not branded" version of the firmware.

Why not ? because the list is soo big and i dont understand all shorts and verbs next to it :(

I live in belgium - unlocked Lumia 820 - and i have Mobile Vikings as provider.

please anyone ?

Great ty soo much i will let you know when its "installed",

Still i think its strange that providers may alter the default software, a loading screen oke or a app of its own but just removing default software should be not allouwed
