HD2ONE => HD2NONE

Hello everyone.

As said before, I just want to share my daily use Android ROM.

But now, since there are many awesome android builds than mine, it's time to say goodbye.

I don't want to say too much, thank you all, good luck.

This is the LAST build. If the build does not work for you, try JDMS and SuperRAM.

Edit @Jan 2:

gt2009 is continuing this build, check here.

Overview
  • CyanogenMod 6.1.1 Stable
  • Hastarin r8.6

What's Not Working
  • Bluetooth HID device
** If you experiencing issues, search this thread first. **

Downloading
** Clean build, does not include third-party apps (even google apps!), you can install any apps you want. **
** For those who need latest cm6 nightly, read this post. **

Installing
  1. Put HD2ONE folder to the root of sdcard.
  2. Run CLRCAD.exe & HARET.exe.
  3. Wait 10 to 20 minutes (based on the speed of sdcard), then you will boot into Android.
** Backup your sdcard before installing **
** Do not use ram option with first installing **

** Your device will AUTO REBOOT when first install or detect kernel change, don't worry. **
** 'AndroidApps' and 'root' folder will be auto-deleted once been installed, for preventing reinstall every time you boot into android. **
** Follow kwanii's instruction if you experiencing issue. **

Updating

** read carefully, otherwise it may not working properly **

Update with Full Package
  1. Backup data
  2. Delete everything under HD2ONE directory except data.img
  3. Extract Full Package then put files into HD2ONE directory
  4. Boot into Android
Update with Standalone Updates
  1. Make sure initrd.gz is r4 or later
  2. Backup data
  3. Put downloaded update package (do not extract) into 'update' folder (create one if not exist) under HD2ONE directory
  4. Boot into Android, update may take 5 to 10 minutes

Great rom, love the 200DPI!

Some issues:

- Market is not showing all appps (also not with MarketEnabler on TMobile)
- Google Maps is asking for Google Account, and come in loop with this question
- HIGH battery drain

Go on with the great release, we need good (non Sense) Froyo roms like this!

Thank you for your quick feedback.

1. Personally, I'm using paid apps enabler and it works great. Would please send me the app name which cannot be shown in market? I'll check it out.
2. When first time the Maps app runs you will be asked to grant permissions, Allow and everything works. I didn't experience the loop problem, please try again and give me further feedback, thanks.
3. Normally currentwidget shows 5-8mA when screen turned off, but sometimes it jump to 50-70mA. I'm seeking the reason and solution.

Pretty solid build, haven't tried it for long enough to comment on the battery life.

You claim there are no screen freezes, that's great and all but I got a 20 second freeze just by picking up my phone. How are you getting no freezes?

Other than that, great build. Keep up the good work.

Hello shadiku, sorry for my words on screen freeze, will change it soon.

I just tried shaking my phone but still no freeze. As mentioned in the first post, I'm currently using ChuckyDroidROM 23139 and Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14.

Hope to hear your further feedback, thanks.

Running it with latest official kernel, works ok - some widgets doesnt work probably cause of the 200dpi - some times screen freezes/time outs for 30sek while turning it on.

Will try it some day.

Thanks for a good job!

Noticed that I can't get exchange sync to work, can't access mailserver for some reason - works good with htc sense builds...

    About System in Ram

To enable system in ram feature, add 'ram_system=1' to cmdline in startup.txt. To disable this feature, simply remove 'ram_system=1' from startup.txt.
Personally I do not recommend using system in ram with my builds.
When booted in to android, changes on /system will be lost once shutdown or reboot. Several ways to fix this issue.
    • Put files and apps to /root folder (as you did in other builds)
    • Directly edit system.ext2
    • Boot without ram feature (remove line in stratup), make the changes, then reboot with ram feature. (thanks to RedWave31)
    • When you make any change to /system, do the same thing to /bootsystem
    • Sync /system with system.ext2 in shutdown progress using third party app (something like cssync, but a bit different) (not available yet)
Anyway, I give you option, choose at your own risk.

    Edit:
Difference with darkstone's SuperRAM FroYo on system in ram.
    • SuperRAM includes a slim system.ext2. The system.ext2 is copied to ram when booting, then mounted to /system.
    • HD2ONE includes a normal system.ext2. The system.ext2 is mounted to /bootsystem when booting, then system files copied to ram.
No major speed difference I think, please feedback. Also please correct me If I'm wrong, thank you.

    Another edit:
It may take 1 or 2 minutes to boot into Android since there is a audio related issue, I'm trying to find solutions since first release but still no luck. Could someone help?
Check fix-audio_policy-boot_speed.zip in the first post.

New initrd.gz with ram fix [Experimental]

Finally, System in Ram feature works on HD2ONE with my method, copy system files to ram after booting.

    1. download and extract attached file
    2. rename to initrd.gz then put into HD2ONE directory.
    3. edit startup.txt, add 'ram_system=1' to cmdline.
    4. boot into android.

Now you should get System in Ram working on HD2ONE.

Caution: Experimental, read this post first.

Anyway, I still do not recommend using this feature since sdcard based is fast enough. Also thanks to darkstone.

    [2010-12-21]
initrd.r9.gz has been uploaded. The only difference with initrd.fix-ram.gz is the loop device name of system image.
So if you use initrd.fix-ram.gz already, no need to update to initrd.r9.gz.
