I just got my Defy and its running Indian froyo 2.2.2 stock. The handset is June 2011 manufactured.

I have an Airtel Mumbai sim and called them up n they messaged me the internet settings. (I have 98Rs pack activated) but my mobile does not even detect the presence of a data network. I also went over the airtel mobile office setting for G1 here but to no avail. Also performed a hard reset.
My wifi has a proxy and so i did all the settings and assigned static ip to defy but when i try to connect to router it shows obtaining ip address
Please help guys its driving me nuts.
