i think the issue is not with bl7 but with latest stock kernel i attached my kernel version check with yours if its the same then its not going to boot that kernel is not working with the custom one our devs have see to that issuse i think.. i dont know how to contact quarx if some one can kindly inform him this issue
All users that have BL7 have the same kernel because of the rooting procedure. If you remember we all have flashed DFP-231 sbf to root.
I don't have found other sbf than this to root.
So it must be from the flash procedure or something that some user make.
For me was worked with the 06.10 kernel at the first attempt without wiping cache, dalvik or data.

Posts saying "omg this kernel is so fast and great! My defy is faster bla bla bla" are just proving, that placebo effect still works.
Guys, these first kernels by Quarx are just stock GB with minor changes.
KSM or zRam are not that powerful features to actually feel it like you all describe ;)

i agree about the "this kernel is fast" part, but "this kernel is great" is definitely warranted.

With locked bootloaders, flashing custom kernels was the sweetest dream but no one thought it could be reality. Through teamwork with milestone2, and other devices, the defy (+)/bravo are becoming more free and users have more options. That in my opinion, is definitely "omg this is great"
:highfive:

Like many others I had issues with high battery drain during standby. But tonight my Defy consumed just 4-6mA (usual values with official Froyo/GB Kernel!). Don't know if anyone else has mentioned it before.
Yes, I had high battery drain just after flashing the custom kernel too. Then after a full charge this seems to be gone! Everything is perfect for normal use and even smoother. Thanx Quarx!

Yours is BL7 and it worked? What CPU governor are you using?

BOOSTED (default by quarx). When you flash the kernel all overclock settings come to default. After the first boot i have changed the overclock settings for 1200mhz.

I didn't flashed other sbf than the one you have flashed. But here you go:

The latest one (rooted EU CEE)

Hi there!

Since quarx2k.ru is down for a while, I compiled the kernel from Quarx' git repo. It's the 0710 version ( check out the commit log here: github.com/Quarx2k/jordan-kernel/commits/2.6.32 ). The most important upgrade is for green lens defy owners like me: it won't burn you flash anymore. I tested it.

You can download the kernel from dropbox.com/sh/7njvrtebi93d9rr/a555BgcYyi

Steps for upgrading from 0610:
  1. download the kernel
  2. check the md5sum
  3. copy the kernel to /system/bootmenu/2nd-boot/
  4. rename it to 'kern'
  5. reboot your defy

Important: It will only work if you've already set up 2nd-boot with custom kernels.

Sorry for the long links, I can't embed links since I'm a new member.

That's it, thanks. I created a kernel zip for those with the CN BL7-Version, so you don't have to flash a full sbf. This is the EU BL7 kernel.
  • Be sure that you have BL7 CN(!)
  • Flash my kernel zip in recovery
  • Let it boot up
  • Go to recovery again and flash Quarx 6.10 kernel

Confusion. I guess the CN version is the working one.!!!? And not the EU. Am I lost?

I had installed the CN version and it's not working for me. So i tested the EU version and it's working very well.
Just wanted to share it in case someone has the same problem.

You are right. Absolutely CN is the problematic one. :)
