man i had this exact same problem when I first updated to 2.2. My battery would only last like 10 hours max before I need to charge. Battery was great when I when I was on 2.1. I thought I did everything I could, but realized I forgot one thing I didn't try that I did on my 2.1. That was SET SCALING. At first I thought I didn't need all of that because of setvsel but I guess it wasn't working right for me. I ran the script provided in one of the threads and now my battery life is AWESOME! 26+ hours and only on 30%. This is what I've always wanted..finally the phone can last more than a day without charging. Of course I have all settings turned down and being on 2G/edge.

I've mainly used wifi, gps off. Light usage only, though several phonecalls. The UK sbf contains blur, but I have used versions without blur in the past and have noticed no real performance differences. Wifi turns off when I turn my screen.

Hi! do you have apns configured or no mobile data? wifi, gps on/off?

UK froyo has blur?

I would like to know how do you get such amazing times.

I have adlxmod f4d with 3g fix (850/1900) and can't get it to last more than one day. I listen to music several hours a day, but it seems to be using a lot of battery to remain in standby with only a few apps with sync.

Ok so I am using setvsel - could that be the reason? I do not think its a network fix in my case as I am in Singapore (Starhub, GSM 1800, W-CDMA 2100) which is and did not apply any patches for that. Juicedefender only made marginal differences (like 10-20%) and is annoying to say the least... I am messing around with JuicePlotter now to see whether I can figure out where my battery is going.

That does look quite similar to my breakdown, except that mine goes down to 30% in 15 hours... Could it be it a battery calibration thing?

The vsel setting seems quite high. With setvsel mine is running at 1 GHz with only 50 vsel. It's stable at 49 even but I always set it 1 higher just in case. I get more or less the same usage here, but I have the wifi on 24/7.
I haven't messed with the vsel, I just slid the bar over to 1GHz and applied and called it a day. I'll adjust to down to 50 and see how much better I get.

:(:(:(

disappointment....not a substantial increase in the backup....am now getting 14 hours on full charge earlier it was 10 hours.....:eek:

but the best thing is i am having a marvellous network....voice and data both....i m happy atleast something worked good for me ;););)

if anyone else needs the 3G fix i made for SEA i.e. 900-1800 Mhz...plz flash the attached zip file.....at least it boosted my network....

now will play with SetVsel to see if i can improve the battery...

CHEERS ALL YOU LOVELY GUYS FOR ADVICE AND SUPPORT :D:D

I just installed kicked out SmartBar, that seems to have increased the runtime for 10% battery drop quite a bit (even if I had deactivated setvsel). Now I am messing again with setvsel to see what is going on (but I now only use it to set the vsel and exit it after that)

This long run of 15 hours with still 72% akku left is only achieved because the display was mostly off (5% of whole consumption). This means very little interaction with the phone. Anybody can achieve that :)

dlamber7 only used his phone for phoning, and not hours of gaming, surfing, music listening.

So the high vsel setting of 74 at 1000 GHz doesn't mean anything, because the CPU will mostly be idling at 300 MHz while phoning or standby.

To improve the setting, use SetVsel with Milestone Overclock (load module) as follows:
Threshold 90%
24 at 300 MHz
34 at 600 MHz
44 at 800 MHz (or 54 at 1000 MHz)

Well thanks for the info. I think the problem is that the battery manager is not granular enough.

I think it packs all background network activities in "cell standby" and all background app activity in "Phone Idle". I'm pretty sure all my podcasting listening goes to phone idle because i do it for hours a day without it ever showing in the battery manager. I think we need a better measurement of the battery consumption.

Any suggestions?
