hi, i'm from spain, do i need to apply the 3g patch or not?
Depending on your local radio frequency, you don't need anything. In France, 3G is working out of the box for me on adlxmod...without any fix.
Bihariel is from spain, maybe he could help you with local settings.

Best,
K

I think I don't need the fix because my 3G it's working OK, but could I save some battery if I install it?

bonethugs :

I don't think so, since a 3G fix is for a functional fix not an improvement of the battery life. Maybe, it can occur some battery misbehavior when it's on a bad frequency patch...When it works, don't have to try anything else from a battery point of view.

dude thats crazy..you must be set on the lowest mhz and vsel.

I got 44 hours on 10%. Good enough but I would love to have your battery life =D
As I specified before, I do not undervolt nor under- or overclock. Furthermore, I use an unmodified SBF, with Blur.

Get those battery times too here. Again I use the Chinese 3G fix for my SEA Defy. Wifi is now off since I just got a data package. The radio is set to 2G only (no 3G here yet). Setvsel profiles: 18/300, 30/500, 50/1000, 90% threshold.

After almost 17 hours the battery is at 81%. I regularly receive email, sms and other notifications that I also check of course. Haven't played a game because I want to see how long it takes for the battery to run almost empty with normal use. I estimate somewhere between 80 and 90 hours.

izzat I am on Starhub in SG as well - 2G and 3G work just fine, I don't think we need any fix - my understanding is the fix will make the network work in areas where they use less common frequencies rather than actually fixing battery life (but I may be wrong there)?

Set mine on 2G for today. Lasted almost 6hours with 10% of battery and light use (occasional email and facebook checks) so far. 3G must eat a LOT of power.

@nupi cool much! Im running the 2.51 uk rom. How bout you? The first time i installed a custom rom i forgot to do a nandroid backup. I did a mistake, bricked the phone, and i had to install the uk rom. It drains battery faster. Well i just wiped the battery stats in cwm recovery and im hoping there will be a significant change after a few charge cycles. Do you have a nandroid of our sea rom?

izzat I am using Pays 3.3 (i.e. 3.4.2-145-FIN) on a what is originally European Defy, not a SEA one. I am not sure whether there are any real hardware differences between the two though (AFAIK, most of SEA uses the same bands as Europe for 3G so likely its mainly a software thing). So cannot help with a SEA nandroid, I am afraid.

However, I believe SG uses 1800GSM (not sure about 900GSM) and 2100WCDMA exclusively so no need to use a SEA rom.

hey...this is definitely a gr8 help...the configurations have helped my battery run atleast 18 hours in one charge that too in performance mode... :)

lets c if gets improved further with time...

i guess i shud now switch back to battery saver mode....
