How can we improve defy camera shutter speed?iphone 4 or xperia arc can take a picture 1/1000 at a second shutter speed but defy take very slow and photos are worst.

I think it is related to hardware, I tried an app before that says you can change shutter speed but it didn't work

Sent from my MB525 using XDA App

The shutter on the defy is fully electronic and the aperture seems fixed at f2.8 which is pretty fast so the shutter will only go really quick when it's a bright day, if it's dull it doesn't need to go fast because it's a fast lens.

I took a photo today and the exif shows the shutter speed was 1/1495, I only use 1/1000 for fast jets at air shows using my DSLR gear.

Can you compare shutter speed with other phones? Fast shutter speed=low quality in dark?

No, a fast shutter speed lets less light get to the sensor, thus you can take pictures in very bright conditions, or you can freeze the image (for car racing events, etc).
You need slow shutter speeds (or high ISO values but those generate noise) to take night shots.
