Hmm that's bizarre. Also which 20f? For US or Verizon I'm still on 20e. And oh I'll add to the OP I'm using magisk 17.1
No need. Works great on Magisk 17.3.

I'm on US998 20E.

v129 removes cloudflare dns, I was having mms issues. Just use the modules in the module repo if you want to use cloudflare.
I have AdGuard and use their DNS anyway, but thank you for the effort.

v128 is just updates to the kernel tweaking script. Less than 1% of battery used chromecasting the 30 minute YuYu Hakusho 20th anniversary episode. I guess that's good. I'd love feedback.
Works great, like the other ones.

So I edited the file to try out Whiskyomega's sound mod on Havoc ROM (9.0) with Magisk 17.1 (much easier to recover from a bootloop since I'm at work with no pc with adb). Got rid of the apps I don't need (YT, Camera, etc).

My main concern now is the other tweaks I'm not familiar with. Should I get rid of the kernel tweaks since I'm on h930ds on Pie (and I'm honestly not familiar with the tweaks, sorry)? The US GPS works, surprisingly, even if I'm in Asia so i might keep that since I don't know enough to work on it. Might probably get rid of that, too, if it causes issues later on, though.

I guess tl:dr is is there anything I should get rid of, in your opinion, because it/they may cause battery drain or similar issues? Sorry for the questions - I'm just unfamiliar with some things this mod does. Tried googling but anxious kernel tweaks show kernel panic.

Edit: already flashed my mod and so far nothing out of the ordinary happened, but it's only been half an hour so... Whiskyomega's dual speaker mod works. Will try if it fixes my DAC issues later after work.

You mean possibly create battery drain because you are on custom PIE ROM, not on stock rooted US998 firmware? Because nothing about the app creates battery drain when used as intended. ;)

His kernel tweaks are based on another kernel tweak script called Hawkpepper. See that post.

I can't believe I missed that! I though I've read through the whole thread.

Tbh, I was concerned about the script since I couldn't find it to know what exactly it did. At least now I can check it out. But then since you're on stock and didn't even notice it then it's probably harmless at the very least.

I don't think I'd experience any issues besides that as I've removed the mod specific to the US998 (except the gps). I didn't add anything to it except the "original" sound mod. :)

*Her

I also removed the hawkpepper governor tweaks. But there are still kernel tweaks.

I really can't answer. Haven't run a pie rom yet

The gps config is just set to go directly to the US ntp server. For a faster lock. It just means people in other countries will experience a longer wait time, I'm talking in seconds/milliseconds.

I replaced the app, but also had to set permissions. Here's screenshots I posted in the other thread.
Hmmm. The file size in the thread is larger. It's around 8mb. And magisk does permissions automatically.
You're using the apk from this thread, right?

My screenshot shows less than 6MB file size. What is the value of the permissions from Magisk? Needs to be 644.

Also you need the LG HD Audio Recorder installed. It's part of stock firmware.

And your screenshot doesn't show 8mb. That's why I asked. It works fine in stock. But not Google dialer. So I was curious what you did
Hmmmm... now that I've gone back to that sub-folder in Root Explorer it does show the 7.67MB. The prior screenshot was still showing the old file size for some reason...

This is the Google Phone from your mod I am using. When I make a phone call (can't right now, too late) the recorder button shows up.

Hmm I see now. You left the oat folder (which contains odex stuff). I suppose that could be the different factor? I doubt carrier matters. I'll test it out. I forgot I had a house phone last night haha I'll be able to test.

Have you updated to v134? If so, does recording still work?

Hmm still didn't work.
